Ruiran Hotel (Shantou MixC Store）

The title of the hotel saying it is "Shantou MixC Store" is misleading because it's not even close to MixC. It's hardly walkable to MixC. The lobby is clean and the check in was organized with nice staff checking us in but once I stepped out onto my floor, there was a strong moldy smell. The hallways are dark and not well lit. I did not like that the room and washroom was all in black because it seems like it's easier to hide any dirt. In fact, because it's all in black you can see many stains on the doors and walls of the washroom. The washroom smells like urine. The hotel put an air freshener in the room, I assume to mask any smell but the air freshener also smells so bad and overpowering I put a garbage bag over it. I can't sleep with that artificial smell. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put onto my door so in the morning a cleaning lady rushed into my room. Good thing I had the safety latch on so the cleaner couldn't come in. The hotel should tell the cleaner to knock before opening the door. The front desk staff asked us to write them a good review but we said we couldn't give them a good review. I would not stay here again. I don't think this hotel deserves the high rating on this website.
