It was a great location with very friendly staff.
The shower , wifi and ac were poor . There was no fridge in the room and the place closed down at 9:30 pm . It was overpriced for the service . Breakfast was great

Absolutely stunning services, and fast paced steward team. Gorgeous aesthetics by the pristine environment . Food served on time and fine hospitality. Kudos to Issa Yusuf, his charm, multi-tasking and hospitality are a great combination to what he does the best! See you soon !

Dimenticate Lamu, la città è praticabile solo per una visita, e non è assolutamente raggiungibile a piedi. Shela è quello che la gente intende per Lamu, praticamente la zona spiaggia che accoglie i visitatori... e qui siete proprio in pole position. Peponi, cifre da Maldive, Banana House, fuggito dopo 30 secondi che avevo disfatto le valigie e mi sono rifugiato subito al Kijani, giardino e ristorante bar fronte spiaggia... e non è poco in un posto dove se non godete della brezza marina soffocate dal caldo e le zanzare vi mangiano vivi. La differenza la fa anche il personale, altrove ho trovato molti di quelli che ti guardano come fossi un bancomat, qui sono molto più disponibili. Ho letto un'unica recensione negativa su questo hotel... ma devono aver sbagliato struttura. A parte le camere che sono splendide, il vero punto di forza è proprio il ristorante, terrazza impagabile sul mare dove ho mangiato alcune fra le cose più buone che ho assaggiato in Kenya... per non parlare degli ottimi spritz, e notate che io sono veneziano. Gran parte della gente all'aperitivo viene polarizzata dal Peponi, ma credetemi, qui si paga la metà e si sta molto meglio e la qualità è migliore. Consigliatissimo

Really recommended. Enter a different world!
Lovely, helpful staff and a great location, right by the water where you look down on everyday life, dhows, donkeys and all. Quiet garden with pool and sunloungers. Excellent rooftop restaurant. 30 minute walk to Lamu or short boatride.
Large, traditional rooms so don't expect TVs.

The food was amazing, spacious room with great view and very clean. The Staff were all welcoming, polite and helpful, especially Tito, Bill and Boniface. Met the owners, they were extremely friendly and welcoming. We are coming back with the whole family this year again!

From the moment we were collected from the airport at Manda by the 'captain' that sailed us to Lamu Island where we stept ashore right in front of the Kijani Hotel, our stay there has been faboulous. The crew is very hospitable, friendly, warm welcoming. The hotelroom, we stayed at a superior room with a beautiful view from our balcony, was spacious and full of atmosphere. The kitchen of Kijani is great too. Lovely breakfast, lunch, dinner. Allrogether, and we have visited other hotels at Lamu too, we think Kijani is the best. Thank you!

The hotel is old but kept very clean. It could use a bit of a facelift but they've kept the standards ok. The team was so good towards us, the manager is excellent too. Breakfast was underwhelming except for the very tasty fruits. The garden was a highlight especially with the tortoise ...

Fabulous 2 night stay in a superior room at Kijani. The staff were wonderful led by Fred the manager and helpful reception staff Elizabeth and Toto. Our room was immaculate with 2 outside terraces and prepared in the evening by Brian who did a beautiful job. The restaurant is to be recommended. We had supper both nights and do try the sensational prawn curry so thank you to the kitchen! Evans, Ngari and David looked after us so well and breakfast was fresh, generous and made to order. Decent coffee and a cafetière were very welcome in our room. The pool are was quiet and the pool beautifully looked after. All the staff play their part to make this lovely boutique hotel amazing value for money . We travel extensively and I do not always place reviews but do not hesitate to book here. It says much as we do not usually return but we plan to make another visit to Kijani.
