Atour Hotel Nanshan Zhigu, Shenzhen Reviews

We have stayed in 10+ Atour hotels, and feel this one does not justify the current 4.9 rating. First, the positives: the room was clean apart from a few marks on the floor, and the rooms are as advertised apart from one major point (see below). The building has been newly renovated into a hotel so the fittings, furniture and decor are all new. The reception staff were nice, friendly, and responsive, and there are all of the usual Atour facilities like laundry and a fitness room. However, a major issue for us was that the room we booked did not have an external window, despite a “city view” being listed as one of the highlighted features on Trip. The small window in the room looks onto a very small light shaft/inner courtyard. Describing it as a city view is both incorrect and misleading, particularly as this room cost more than the one listed as “no city view”. When contacted by Trip on our behalf, the hotel provided no acknowledgement of the issue - the response that was relayed to us was that the “unified view of the room is the interior view”. Additionally, the breakfast room seems to be too small for the size of the property - we arrived and there were no tables for us to sit at straight away. It also has no windows and feels cramped. Even though it isn’t, it feels like eating underground/in a bunker. The dumplings are held behind the counter in baskets so you can’t help yourself, yet they are cold 🤷♀️ There was also noise late into the night, some of which seemed to be from housekeeping cleaning rooms past midnight, and otherwise from noisy guests in other rooms. The soundproofing isn’t as good as it should be, but there are ear plugs provided. Location wise, the hotel is next to a mall which is currently still being constructed. It is not centrally located so worth making sure the location works for your plans in Shenzhen.

I checked in at midnight. There were two service staff at the front desk. I was surprised that there were two service staff at this late hour. I was very touched. I booked an elegant king-size bed. The girl at the front desk said that the elegant room would be stuffy without windows and ventilation. She upgraded me to a superior king-size bed for free. The room is quite large. There is a window leading to the patio. It is very clean and simple, very suitable for business travel. The bed is quite large and the pillows of Atour are well-deserved and easy to sleep. But even after the room upgrade, it is still very stuffy. Moreover, the room is not soundproofed well. You can hear people walking in the corridor at around 5 o'clock in the morning. There are renovations nearby, and you can hear the renovations at around 8 o'clock in the morning. However, the room is very considerate and equipped with two earplugs. The service is very good. I think it is a suitable choice for business travel.

It is first come, first served. Is there no replenishment?

As one of the best choices for business trips and travel, Atour's design is always so pleasing. Although it does not have the grandeur of a big hotel, it gives people the feeling of being affordable, easy to use, comfortable and cost-effective.

The service is very good and the place is generally hygienic. It's a little dusty When checking in, the customer service explained the membership system and upgraded the room for us. They also delayed the check-out time. **Both rooms are delivered to the room by robots, which is very convenient. The only thing is that the bathroom is relatively small Everything else is generally fine. I hung a do not disturb sign on the door before going out. When I came back, I saw my aunt cleaning the room. When I asked, I found out that the front desk had made a mistake. I was shocked. The laundry service is very good. After you take the clothes, there will be a dedicated person to help with them and then send them back to the room. Very considerate. Will stay again next time. 

The rooms are very good and the service is also very good, but there are some bugs that I don’t know. I was bitten by some bugs and couldn’t get rid of them for two days. I suggest you check them out.

The service at Atour is as good as ever. The room is clean and comfortable. The environment is good. It is worth recommending. It is cost-effective and relatively new. It is not far from the hotel and is quite convenient.

The breakfast was very rich. I made a cup of homemade coffee when I left. The front desk service was very good and I also gave a souvenir. The only thing that needs improvement is the sound insulation of the room. Everything else is very good. It is especially suitable for a hotel with children.

On the day of check-in, I received a call from the hotel staff asking if I had any special requirements and the arrival time. The front desk lady was very welcoming. Seeing that I brought two children, she upgraded the room for free. The room was also very clean and comfortable. I will choose Atour next time

When we checked in, the front desk staff took the initiative to give us two glasses of water. The service attitude was very good. The room is fully equipped, neat and clean, and the mobile phone can be placed directly on the table to charge. There are food delivery robots that deliver food to rooms.

Check-in at the hotel is very fast and convenient, and the room is very new and clean. The hotel is newly opened, the rooms are very new and very clean. Food is available for late night snacks.

When I arrived at the hotel, although it was fully booked, I was still upgraded to a larger room. The environment and facilities of the wooden double bed room were really great. I felt that I didn't fully appreciate the room even after staying there for one night. The gym looked really good, and there were plenty of food, drinks and entertainment options around. I hope to have the opportunity to stay there in the future!
