The place was quite accessible from the road (where vehicles move) leading to mall road, just a few minutes of climb from the road. It is also close to mall road. To reach mall road, you can either do a 10 minute climb or walk to the bottom of the lift and take the lift up to mall road. The rooms were warm (even without additional heater, and constantly had hot water supply. The room also had a nice view of the city. It was a comfortable stay overall.

Absolutely outstanding resort perfectly located, just perfect for that serene, close to nature break we needed... Unwind with refreshing laps in the crystal-clear swimming pool.rRefresh yourself with a leisurely walk in the lush green garden. delight your senses with lip-smacking dishes at the in-house restaurant. Great food, superb views from room as well as the lawn, friendly and humble staff.. this place has got very good vibes, so serene and calm almost like meditative feeling... we totally loved our stay, the bonfire with an awesome view. But it will be best in summer if have the yoga session in the lawn.. Anyone who loves hills and nature and wants to be away from the chaos and fast city life, Flag House Resort is a must visit place!!

The WoodVista Cottages are situated in a little offbeat village - Bakhog - in the Theog District in Shimla, Himachal. It is a serene location tucked away from the hubbubs and the rush of the now very commercial city of Shimla. Being around 25 kilometers from the Shimla, the approach involves a bit of an off road drive (approximately 20 minutes from the main highway) - but something easily manageable in any vehicle - even if you drive a sedan. Reaching there, you will find a warm welcoming reception from happy to help people - the friendly estate manager, Vikas and his excellent team of associates (especially Neha and Goldie). The whole estate is surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden of indigenous mountain flora, and lot of sprawling, natural jungles all around. And not to forget the abounding apple trees! For your stay, they have the option of 7-8 cottages, each built using specific types of wood and aptly named as well - the cottages have had their fair share of hosting several celebrities too! Ask Vikas and he will surely have some stories to share! Also, some of their cottages have duplex setups ***** with kitchenettes too - if you want to do some home cooking while on vacation. Taking about fun - they have something to keep your family members engaged - like cycling, Badminton and even a snooker table! They also provide free Internet (Wi-Fi) with good enough speeds (workation anyone?). And if you are the adventurous kind, exploring around is mighty fun as there are many trails to take and every day can be a different journey. Mind you, it is essentially a jungle all around, so keep walking and you can never know what you find! But if you are here just to relax, have some quiet time, maybe catch up on your yesterdays with your drive-*****-friends (over beer of course), that’s fine too! Sit outside in the wide open porch and chat under the stars with your favorite drinks in hand! Not to mention, they also have some highly skillful folks in the kitchen, who work their magic with fresh, home grown vegetables, fresh picked and grounded spices, and dishes ranging from the awesome Pahadi Chicken - a local delight for the chicken lovers and for the vegetarians - the excellent Paneer Lababdar! So plan your one true chance to be one with nature. Welcome to your calling!

We arrived at Sterling Kufri in the evening on May 8th, 2024, following a four-hour drive from Chandigarh. The front office staff at Sterling promptly checked us in and graciously offered us a selection of rooms to choose from. Despite being an older property, our room was cozy and well-maintained. The hospitality of the Food & Beverage team, including Chef Imran, Sukesh, Naresh, and others whose names escape me, was exceptional. They went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary preferences, even preparing dishes and freshly baked chapatis upon our request despite opting for the buffet. Their warmth made us feel right at home. Evenings at Sterling Kufri were filled with engaging activities organized by the activity depar**ent, including games and karaoke, which added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. One incident that stands out is when my wife misplaced her diamond earring. Upon notifying the hotel staff, we were pleasantly surprised by their honesty and dedication. Thanks to Mohit and Sohan, who diligently searched the banquet hall where we had participated in activities, we were reunited with the lost earring. Their swift action and integrity left a lasting impression on us. After three days at Sterling Kufri, we are now en route to Sterling Chail, carrying with us fond memories of the exceptional service, delicious cuisine, and plethora of activities.

Great hotel, great location and courteous staff and its the hotel is a heritage building. You can feel the history. Room comfort and food outlets are excellent. Breakfast is good with mix of indian and western choices. Restaurant too offers the mix at great taste. Ver helpful staff and front desk. The hotel is located right next to the famous mall road of Shimla, walking distance, ***y shopping and food outlets available ***** the road including branded shopping. The only down side is there is no vehicle access to the entrance of the hotel due local restriction, no vehicle road. One have to climb up 250m stairs, the hotel provides help to pick you luggage. Physically challenged and the elderly will find it challenging. There is option to use public electric lift 500m away and walk to the hotel. I will certainly choose this hotel in the future if I am visiting Shimla.

Amazing views from the large hotel reception window. A great hotel in a good location with delicious food. The rooms were incredibly good, once you found them! We were directed to a lift but were not advised we would not see level 2 and this was actually a separate section of the hotel and we had to go outside to reach it (it was raining!) furthermore the room number indicated were were in Block 2 but the signage referred to Block B. Very confusing! Would stay again though and the drinks were one of the most reasonably priced on our trip.
