We are not the type to write a bad review but our experience at this hotel was too terrible not to. As two 20 year old women we felt very unsafe and vulnerable in this hotel. We arrived at midnight and there were no staff at reception and no way of letting anyone know we were there. Once somebody did come he was very abrupt and rude. We then had to pay for air conditioning (45 euros a week) and WIFI (10 euros per person) which we were led to believe came with the room. We were then led down a dark alley which had no lighting and our room was away from the primary complex and when we got to it, it looked like it was falling apart. Once we entered we were shocked at how different it was to the photos on the website- the main door handle was falling off its hinges, the sofa was ripped and falling apart, the tap in the sink was basically coming off, there were no handles on the cupboard doors, as we were walking around we had visible dirt on our feet because of how dirty the floor was (I think I would get less dirty walking outside), there was no toilet paper upon arrival, the shower pressure was non existent and the options were either freezing cold or lukewarm, and the window next to our door didn't have a lock and could easily be opened from the outside. Also, the WIFI that we paid for was on and off all the time and the aircon was more like heating since it was blowing out hot air. When we told reception about our problems they were blunt and acted as though we were inconveniences. They reluctantly fixed our air conditioning (they bluntly told us we were pressing the wrong button even though they didn't tell us how to use it in the first place and all of the buttons were not in English so we couldn’t understand it) and they put a makeshift lock on the window that was pointless because it could have easily been broken again. We were very worried and on edge, because of this we barely slept (the uncomfortable bed with 1 pillow each and sheets that felt like towels did not help our sleep either). When we stressed our worries about our safety to the man at reception, he laughed at us and brushed us away, making us feel belittled and did not help with our feeling of unsafety. No member of staff ever apologised to us after we complained and we did not feel reassured at all at any point. Generally, the staff were incredibly rude and very unhelpful. There were people constantly trying to get into our room. First the cleaner tried to come in so we told her ‘no thank you’ after she just opened our door and she didn’t really understand us, one of the men at reception knocked on our door and when we opened it he was forcefully trying to pull the door open whilst we were asking him politely to leave us alone, and then at one point there was man that we did not recognise trying to get into our room and attempting to look through our windows and lingering around our room (this all happened in a couple hours)- there was no sense of privacy or security at all.
