I stayed just one night in the single room at the hotel. The room was a fair size, and equipped with toiletries, tea/coffee etc as expected. A comfortable bed, and a small bit adequate bathroom. My room had a sea view, and with the sash window open, I fell asleep to the sound of waves on the pebble beach: wonderful! The bar below was busy but not too noisy to be a disturbance. I purchased a (quite expensive!) glass of wine and was able to take this to my room. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely fresh fruit, cooked choices, juice and hot drinks. Would definitely stay again.

Very warm welcome from the manager.Food and service was exceptional.The Devon tenderloin of pork was the best I have ever eaten.Vegetables were delicious followed by summer berry crumble and ice cream.All home made and delicious.coffee was also very good

This pub/restaurant close to the seafront was busy even on a cool, wet July evening but the service was excellent with friendly, attentive staff, good food and drink at reasonable prices and served promptly. For ale drinkers I would recommend the Yellowhammer as especially good.

Whilst holidaying in Sidmouth we came across Dukes so booked for the following Evening which is fish and chip night.We wasn't disappointed,as soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very smiley friendly waitress.The food arrived the fish was large,nice batter and flaky white so good we booked for the next night which was steak night,again couldn't fault it the steak cooked to exactly how we like it.What a fantastic place,every member of staff so helpful and friendly and food faultless,well done to kitchen staff.

Good food and large portions, both fish and meat, although a little disappointed with the selection of fresh fish available. Good service from friendly staff. Busy on a Saturday night and couldn't book at the time we wanted but a lot of tables inside and out. Reasonable prices. Would visit again.

We visit Sidmouth oten and always try to dine at Dukes. On 27 June we enjoyed an evening meal with everything to the usual highest of standards. Minor hiccup over our order attended to by the staff efficiently, pleasantly, quickly and without any fuss. The food was superb, lovely ambience, excellent staff - friendly, efficient and caring. Excellent value for money. As usual a super evening and strongly recommen Dukes to all. Recommend booking to avoid disappointment as the restaurant is always busy.

What a great hotel! Firstly the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. We stayed in room 5 which has the bay window with the view of the sea. Large comfortable room, huge bathroom. The breakfast menu and quality of food was great too. Would definitely stay again.

Great food and a good atmosphere. A very popular eatery with a great menu selection - a bit limited on veggie options. I had the mussels and hubby ordered the rainbow salad. Desserts were plentiful and really tasty too. Good range of drinks available. Staff really friendly and nothing seemed like too much trouble which is always a good thing. Will definitely come here again.

Visiting friends who moved to the town, and had Dukes recommended. Went on discount fish & chip night. Really tasty fish in great batter; great valuer - recommended. Wide range of drinks. Very friendly and informative staff. Well worth a visit.
