Anantara Angkor Resort

Our stay had a heartwarming highlight: a young woman with braces at the front desk was incredibly friendly and patient during our interactions. The entire service was in Chinese. The lady pictured here was excellent! 👍 However, the duty manager on shift provided a very poor experience; he wore a frown the entire time and lacked any smile. His service attitude was stiff and fell far short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel. I even saw him laughing and joking with colleagues in the office area, lacking the professionalism expected of management. Compared to boutique and budget hotels within Siem Reap, where they offer welcome cold towels upon arrival and staff proactively and kindly inquire about your stay, the basic service experience there was actually superior to this Anantara.

The breakfast here is arguably top-notch for Angkor, but the room type feels a bit dated. The free steam room and sauna are worth trying. The location is a bit out of the way, but since I rented a motorbike, I found it acceptable. The Apsara show in the evening was quite good.

The room was clean and spacious, with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. It was such a pleasant environment. But what really stood out was the hotel's thoughtful and attentive service. Yuki, who assisted us, was so professional and kind. We're especially grateful for her help in recovering a lost phone. Being in a foreign country, that act of kindness truly made us feel warm and cared for. A heartfelt thank you!

Cons: The twin bed in the room was too small. The shower with a bathtub had poor drainage. The bathroom exhaust fan was so noisy that I couldn't sleep even with earplugs, and it wouldn't turn off. The pool water was salty. The breakfast room was full of flies. The hotel seemed to be undergoing renovations, but the facilities were very old. The gym had a strong smell. The location was also bad, with nothing nearby. They probably forgot to give me the departure gift. Pros: The à la carte breakfast was delicious. 🈶 Airport pick-up service and a new vehicle were provided.

The location is a bit off, but overall it's very good. The service is very good and satisfactory. The hotel has free activities every day, and I was given a ticket to the Ferris wheel next door when I checked in. It was good to stay for 2 nights.
