Hotel Somadevi Angkor Resort & Spa

The location was excellent and the hotel staff were very friendly. The bathroom was spacious, but perhaps a bit old, as some water leaked onto the floor when showering in the bathtub. Overall, it was a good hotel.

Facilities: So-so, quite old. The air conditioning outdoor unit was particularly noisy, and the soundproofing was poor, with frequent sounds coming through. Hygiene: Very clean. Environment: Generally good, with a great location. It's within walking distance of the bar street. Service: Very warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was abundant.

Although the hotel is a bit old, it feels great overall! I was especially satisfied with the swimming pool and breakfast. The swimming pool is very large, with shallow and deep sections, so kids can play without disturbing adults swimming. The hotel staff were also very friendly, and there's a huge supermarket nearby. A very good experience!

This is an older five-star hotel. Our family of four stayed in connecting rooms, which were very spacious, located in a separate building behind the pool. We were the only guests checking in at that time, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The hotel front desk staff and other employees were all smiling and greeted us proactively. The bathroom was very large, featuring both a bathtub and a standing shower. Because the hotel has a lot of greenery, we occasionally saw small ants in the bathroom, but overall, the cleanliness was excellent. Every day when we returned, the beds were neatly made. The only minor issue was the lack of a clothesline for drying laundry. Luckily, I brought my own, otherwise, our sweat-soaked clothes from Siem Reap would have had no way to dry. The water quality visually appeared cleaner than in Pattaya. Breakfast was just okay, not many options, and the Khmer flavors were milder compared to Thai cuisine. The rice noodles, however, were more to our liking. Overall, as long as you don't expect a free lunch, Siem Reap is safe, and the people are kind, simple, and eager for tourism to boost their income.

The room door didn't close properly as it was a bit stiff. I can't comment on the breakfast as I booked a room-only plan, but the restaurant and pool seemed clean.

I can highly recommend this hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and some even speak a little Chinese. Booking a room with breakfast included is a great deal, and the breakfast spread is fantastic. The hotel also has a swimming pool and offers a free 10-minute foot massage. Its central location feels very safe.
