Sunny Bungalow

Liked · Sunny Bungalows is a small establishment with only 6 bungalows right on Saracen Bay. Quiet location but with many beachside dining choices nearby. The bungalows were just off the beach with a nice garden out front. The bungalows were neat & tidy with a little balcony out front with seating for 2. Each bungalow had its own extra large bottle of water to refill your own bottles with. These bungalows only had a fan but that was sufficient to keep the room at a pleasant temperature. There was tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Rooms were cleaned daily & you were provided with fresh towels - 2 for the bathroom & 2 for the beach. Staff were friendly & helpful & were busy maintaining the bungalows. They also had their own sun lounges on the beach. Disliked · The restaurant/cafe wasn't open so you had to go to other nearby places for breakfast but they had cold drinks for sale. No WiFi.

The host was easy to chat with and helpful for booking ferry and bus. Very basic accommodation. Would be great if they could upgrade the chairs on the patio though. Appreciated that they they provided water to refill your bottles, gave them an extra star for that one! Would sure be nice if the locals understood that the definition of paradise doesn’t include litter. Glad we stayed on Sarcean Bay, it was quiet enough and there were lots of places to choose for dinner. We walked to Sunset Beach for breakfast, it had rocky, steep spots so appreciated the ropes that are there. Was about 45 minutes and well worth it! Not much but the beauty on the other side, places to eat but we didn’t see any beach chairs and there’s no wifi. Truly paradise! Also walked to Relax beach. Was a much easier walk but they’re putting in some new roads and destruction is on the move. Walked over around 8 am and by the time we walked back around noon they had dug a huge ditch in front of one of the connecting trails. I would ask if they’ve had any consideration for walkers before I attempted that walk again.I understand “progress “ is building a road from one end of the island to the other. After we had a great breakfast at Relax we walked up the hill to a viewpoint and saw some old carvings along the way. Also did a boat trip with “Mr Nice” for the day.Snorkeling, fishing and bbq lunch on the boat. Was fun! I’m so glad we got to go to Koh Rong Sanloem when we did…change is coming. If you’re going to Siem Reap next Da Mao is a great guide. His What’s Ap is 012551625 or Da Photography and Angkor tours We did bike ride tours with him, countryside and Temples, so much fun!

Dimang the manager is a great person. Excellent customer service. He helped me with everything I needed. The bungalows are nice and clean in a good location . Overall, it's a very nice play to stay in koh rong sanloem.

Very Nice place to stay Khmer culture bungalow look good and very friendly staff . Feel stay at home. And the beach just 20 maters from the beach and this place is also close on the way to other side we call sun set beach . And also good place for backpacks because this place close the pier 30 matters from pier. Will be back a gain .

Sunny bungalow is a strange name as the rooms actually aren’t sunny, they’re mostly shaded by fruit trees at the rear of the property. Although it’s on the beach there aren’t any sea view rooms. The bungalows are a good size, wood construction, a bit rickety but clean enough. There’s a mosquito net (though ours had a couple of holes) and that was needed. There were LOTS of mosquitos after unseasonal heavy rain. The shower has hot water and decent pressure. The owners are friendly and helpful. Saracen bay is a mix of accommodation from backpacker dorms at Big Easy, to $250 a night resorts. We paid around $28 which I felt was a little expensive compared to what we’d paid just round the headland at M’Pay bay. The beach stretches for about a mile- nice white sand but very tidal and the water was a bit discoloured from run off from rivers after the rain. Sunset beach at the other side of the island is nicer and reached by a jungle path behind Sunny Bungalow- quite a challenging walk, 45 mins, but worth it- pack the mozzie repellant! In summary Sunny Bungalow is a good choice for budget travellers wanting a private room and not too concerned with a beach view.
