It was an excellent stay in MandarimOriental. The room is so great and pretty, and the location is also very good, next to the shopping mall, and there are many restaurants nearby. I will choose the hotel next time

We loved the location of the hotel with a view to the lake and it's surrounding especially the Marina Bay Sands' "The Holy Trinity" buildings or also sometimes called the "Tablets". And at sun rise and/or sun set, beautiful pictures can be taken or just enjoying the scenery if your room have a good view to the lake. The hotel interior is superb - clean and well decorated at every floor. The breakfast is fantastic with many choices of food and desserts - from Asian to Continental. And if you have the lounge assess, their service is very attentive to your request and preferences. A well place for Staycation and tourists' stays alike. Of course, the convenience to any shopping around the hotel and walking distance to many major shopping malls. Garden by the Bay is not very far away with spaces for jogging and exploring the nearby nature reserve. You might get to see a lone eagle flying around the bay or even a troop of family otters around the bay area or near the Garden By the Bay. We will definitely be coming back soon.

We booked for 4 nights. Room is small and the closet/drawer has some wood smell (we believed it's due to resent renovation a few months ago). My room is hot. I turned the AC to 18 degree and high cool and it's still hot. Have complained to hotel. The maintenance guy came and said we have to wait longer for the AC to get cold. But we have been inside the room for over 1 hour and it's still hot. On the first night, I have asked for a standing fan. Housekeeper said they will try to locate a fan but there's no further reply and the fan never came. There's no socket in the bathroom so you have to blowdry your hair in the bedroom. This is the worst MO we have stayed in. On our third day, we mentioned the AC problem to the manager Stephen Foong at the coffee shop (Embu) and he's very kind to help us and arranged someone to fix the AC in that afternoon. Finally we can have a very good sleep in our last night. Thanks to Stephen who not only takes care of us at the restaurant, he even helped to fix the AC which is not his responsiblity. Won't stay in MO in our next visit.

I stayed in Mandarin Oriental Hotel with three relatives and booked a premium family room. When checking in, the front desk staff were very polite and provided good service. When they saw that there were three of us, they also helped us upgrade the room free of charge. The room was very clean with perfect facilities.

Comfortable room. We had some problem with the hot water but maintenance came very quickly. Management was apologetic and met us to offer complimentary food. Also booked the buffet meal at the restaurant Embu which was truly excellent. What stands out most was the customer service, from the concierge, reception to housekeeping who were extremely polite and pleasant. Shout out to the manager (so sorry didn't get her name- a ********* lady) for making our stay a memorable one.

Positives - Consistent Fantastic Service from all staff - Complimentary free activities such as 20 min sidecar ride, 1 hour cycling tour etc… - Fans of M.O is great ( welcome amenity (I received chocolates), and a choice of 2 added privileges such as early check in, late check out (I was given 4pm check out), room upgrade (I got upgraded from deluxe room), and others) - Huge room (55 sq metres) - Extremely comfortable bed (must be the goose down bedding) - a couple of free items in the room such as tapping tapir sparking sofas, acqua panna mineral water, huge selection of complimentary soft drinks and beer in mini bar (for club room guests), fruits - media hub - usb bedside charging - good selection of cable tv channels - able to swivel tv - attention to detail in room (hdmi and audio cables provided in room) - very comfortable executive desk chair - Bathrobes super comfortable - bath salts provided for bath tub - Diptyque toiletries were lovely - decor and layout of room was nice too Negatives - Signs of ageing (hotel going to close for 6 months to renovate in March though) hence the negatives here may no longer be an issue after the refurbishment :) - bathtub is a little small - shower area is quite cramped too - tv does not allow chrome cast - tv size could be bigger (55 inch Samsung tv) - no Nespresso machine

The hotel has just closed for renovations but prior to this I had a wonderful time. The bedding was divine. The rooms with a view of the Marina Bay Sands were breathtaking. The service and on-site restaurants/bars were good. Breakfast was a massive, high-quality buffet. Amazing deal through Trip.

One of the worst hotel experience the room had a damp smell and everything seems dated i didnt realize until after i complained that the hotel will be closing next week for renovation, anyway trip.com dealt with my complain and upgraded me cos i was going to get a refund and book a hotel elsewhere it was that bad, after they upgraded me it was better cos they have a window which i could open to ventilate

The checkin was quick and hassle free. My family was offered lemonade drink at the front desk which was a pleasant surprise. We did not encountered it at other hotels that we check in for our staycation. Room was spacious, clean and the environment was good. We are impressed by the effort that the hotel put in to reduce the use of plastic. There was complimentary sparkling sofa bottled drink for the hotel guest which taste nice and refreshing. The melt cafe offers a good spread of the food and it is value for money. My children are happy with the food. The cafe staff was helpful and provided good service. I was shocked when I was greeted by my surname. The staff make an effort to remember the hotel guest name. Room service and house keeping deserve to be mentioned. They spare no effort to fulfil our requests. A simple request maybe for earl grey tea bags to housekeeping the room especially when there are children around.It can be really messy at times. May I make a suggestion if the hotel would look into the possibility of providing a Nespresso machine as most hotel do provide one.

Second stay at MO. Service was fantastic and staff were helpful as usual, and the front office manager, Mike was constantly checking with me to see that everything was going well.  The premier suite was large and spacious, with a good view of the city, on a high floor I enjoyed the bikecation very much, it was nice and convenient, and I managed to do quite a lot of cycling throughout my 2 days at the hotel without having to rent a bike from elsewhere. One suggestion that I thought could be better was perhaps to rent the bikes out later than 7pm? Understand the hotel stops at 7pm for various reasons, but the night view at Marina Bay is amazing and it would be nice to be able to cycle around the area at night Breakfast at Melt cafe was very good in terms of spread and quality , and the service staff, especially Nancy, was just as friendly, although they were all very professional. Mary-Ann from room service was also very helpful when we were a bit unsure with usage of the switches in the suite Their christmas dinner was also fantastic, the food was fresh and tasted good, and plates were cleared timely. I also enjoyed the food at the hotel lounge, especially during evening canapés. Just take note, if you are booking a club room, that the hotel adheres to the dress code very strictly and shorts are not allowed in the lounge, which is very cosy.  I say this because some hotels do not enforce the dress code. I was caught completely off-guard and did not bring any pants. The hotel, however, was kind enough to lend me one so that I could use the lounge. Would definitely return when the price is right. Moreso if they include the bicycles in a future package. It would also be nice if they could allow us to use the bikes later than 7pm to better appreciate the city's night view (and also as a sort of 'after dinner' cycle)
