Rating 0/5 - Exceptions to this RATING - Are the polite & extremely helpful Jessica @ the front desk & Andre the Rooms Manager who went out of their respective ways to meet any requirements needed. Firstly, my reservation was booked 2 months prior yet NO NOTIFICATION that the Hotel name & brand had changed a couple weeks prior. With a few street signs & the massive New Name signage on the hotel marquis , I was not notified of the NH Re- Branding. I was told that ALL guests were notified of this Change of Corporate Re- Branding . When I explain this to the Day front Desk Manager his reply was nothing they can do as it all comes from Head Office (poor apology ). I checked all previous correspondence & no such emails were received by me despite being assured that notifications were sent to all arriving guests! After an 8 hour flight from Toronto Canada & driving past the hotel 3 times up & down one way streets, finally parked & asked where is the Tivoli Sintra Hotel? I was directed in its direction. Jessica @ the front desk walked back with me to my car ( got in with my wife & I ) & guided us through the streets to the hotel. Wonderful ! Andre was most attentive & any request was followed through with the expertise & care of a 5 star manager (a hand written note expressing his desire to be of service should we require anything) was in our room . COMMENDABLE! Now my rating is based not on these two wonderful caring staff But the other staff & room encounters. The shower head kept falling down on the bar so could only be used by hand . The evening front desk manager came to the room & apologizing said it would be repaired in the morning, still not corrected by next day. I asked for 4 towels as the shower floor was soaking wet ( said could give us ONLY 2 ) from the ill functioning shower-head, also the sink faucet spout that spewed water over the entire area (poor design) choice. The house maid came & cleaned entire bathroom that evening so we could still use it the next day - lovely lady despite no English we gestured what was required and she met our expectations. The following day we went @9:30 pm for a late light dinner. After being seated by a bus boy who did not provide us with table settings, we waited 10 minutes as the Waiter walked by us twice with no acknowledgment as to our presence (saying he would be with us momentarily would have been considerate). He proceeded to serve another table 3 feet from us, who were asking for additional drinks as they were obviously there for some time dining. We finally got up from the table & in dismay the waiter looked at us. We stated that being ignored & as guests of the hotel were upset with this level of disrespect & lack of hospitality professionalism. Lastly, I had sent an email at the time of booking advising of this being a special 70 th Birthday trip for my wife, to the hotel Manager that any niceties that could be offered would be appreciated. We were lucky enough to stay with Karen and Goncalo for three days this August 2022. We had a family of four stay in two of the rooms in the main house. Waking up every morning to have a wonderfully cooked breakfast, fresh orange juice and great coffee any way you wanted it. Karen gave us wonderful recommendations of what to do in town, as well as places to visit not far from Sintra. She even connected us with a driver that was able to take us to and from many places. When we come back to Sintra, we will be staying here again. A home away from home feeling.

Private manor house, 2 floors, luxurious and serene, silk wall covering, with a piano and other antiques over 100 years old. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Sintra’s Regaleira Manor. There is free parking and there is a kettle for hot water and a pot for making tea. Breakfast is plentiful and some are silver cutlery. The hotel provided us with an extra bed for free. When we left, we also sent three bottles of water. The service staff was warm and meticulous, clean and hygienic. On the first day, the pool had a lot of fallen leaves, and it was cleaned up the next day. Very interesting is that there are four peacocks on the 2nd floor of the hotel. I wonder if it is fed by the hotel? Recommended hotel!

The hotel is in the golf resort. It is convenient if you have a car. If you don't have a car, you can go to the train station and take a bus to the sights. The swimming pool is downstairs, and it's very comfortable to have a sit there in the evening. I'd like to recommend it.

This is a rather elegant Pousada which is managed by the Pestana Hotel chain. Checking in at Reception was painless and swift. The staff generally were pleasant and friendly. Our bedroom was on the ground floor overlooking the car park. We needed to keep the windows closed for security and the curtains closed for privacy. The bedroom was pleasantly furnished and in good condition. The bed was king size and very comfy. There was plenty of hanging space for clothing The size of the room left very little space to conveniently store suitcases. The room was equipped with a refrigerator but no mini bar. There was also a television which as far as I could tell only had Portuguese programs. I could not find any English language programs. This did not really a problem because I was staying at this hotel for a limited time and did not want to watch TV. The bathroom was en suite with both a bath and a shower. The bath was useless because it did not have a bath plug and the hotel staff were unable to find a bath plug for me. There was plenty of tepid warm water for washing. However you need to have patience to have hot water. Hot water took a lifetime before it reached our room Our bedroom must have been some distance from the boiler because other guests did not suffer the same problem. A lot of water was wasted while waiting for the hot water. This was not a good way to “Save the Planet” as instructed by a sign / notice on display in the bathroom from the hotel management. The plug in the wash hand basin did not work properly. As you will realise having a wash in this hotel was a bit of an ordeal. Buffet breakfast had lots to chose from with a choice hot and cold dishes. The Lounge bar is comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Apart from the lack of bath plugs, the hotel is in good condition and decorative order.

I went there from 14 until 16 of January and I had an amazing experience. This hotel is so good, calm, comfortable, perfect for a good couple moments, has a good food, cleaning, location from Sintra City with so many castles and medieval era places to know. And what I have to say about the staff? OMG! Everybody is wonderful hosts! I just have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all! Keep going this way I really wanna to come back as soon is possible :)

We had a beautiful long weekend stay here. Staff were so welcoming and attentive, the pool is phenomenal and our room was clean and modern with a balcony overlooking the sea. The restaurant is worth a visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel because the food is great. Dying to go back already!

We arrived here early, long before check-in. We waited in the lounge, which was comfortable enough, and noticed guests arriving after us were being allocated thier rooms before us, no reason given. We had booked 2 balcony rooms, only to be put in the basement with a ”garden room”, no view, dark and dingy. I complained and in fairness we were moved the following day, although we were put two floors apart, not ideal as we were travelling as one party. One of our party was taken unwell and the Reception staff could not have been more unhelpful, flatly refusing to call a doctor. Having worked in the travel business in this resort I can honestly say that I have never stayed in such an unfriendly, unhelpful hotel. I would never even consider staying at this awful place again, let alone recommend it to anyone else. Please pay a little more and stay in a decent hotel as far away from this one as possible.
