An older establishment that could do with a face uplift. The rather garish, jaded, yellow hallway decor created a negative first impression. The premise would greatly benefit from a cleaner and fresher appearance. The single small elevator was barely adequate for guest traffic. Our second-floor room was notably musty on first entry but this quickly faded as we acclimated. The room was equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and 32” TV. The double-queen beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was fine. Breakfast was good with a variety of traditional offerings. First appearances are sometimes deceptive, particularly when the underlying product is solid. Not much can be done about an old building, but a lot can be accomplished with new wall furnishings and a can of paint. Management might be happy with the status quo but would be well advised to consider modest refurbishment.

A giant red flag was the prominent sign at check-in with a detailed explanation of their refund policy (boiled down, essentially, to ”no refunds”)... Clearly many guests are dissatisfied with their accommodations. It would seem likely for good reason. My experience started with a horrible check in. The clerk found my reservation, and informed me that I had been ”upgraded” to a suite because they were oversold. Then her computer monitor went blank. Rather than give me a room key and let me get settled as she worked to fix it as I suggested (since she had, after all, already seen I had a room and knew which type), I had to stand there for 25 minutes while she worked with her manager to try to reboot the system. When I finally got my key, I traveled down drab hallways in need of fresh paint to find my suite. My immediate impression was the ”suite” had furniture that was so badly stained and disgusting (see photos) that I'm pretty sure you could find much fresher items curbside on trash day. Later, when I went to bed, I discovered the sheets had a ”baked on” crusty material on one side of the bed (sort of visible in photo). I'd guess it was food that survived the wash and got dried in, but I'm not really sure. I'm not sure how anyone folding the sheet from the wash or putting it on the bed could not notice, but nothing at this place suggests a great deal of care or concern is put into the guests' experience. During the evening, I found the hotel wifi so overloaded that I couldn't really use it - I was able to pull down 1.3 Mb/s at the most. Although it worked better in the morning. The toilet was also running every few minutes, with no amount of handle jiggling able to stop it. There are literally at least six motels within a short walk of this place. It's unfathomable that at least one, if not multiple, would be a much, much, much better choice.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving before 3PM to a welcoming receptionist who checked my ID, processed my payment while I filled out a liability paper, then presented the key cards. We took the elevator to the 3rd floor. Room #316 had new carpet, clean with a comfortable king, desk & chair, easy chairs, clothes bar and medium sized refer with micro & coffee machine. Opening window view to the side parking lot. The fully outfitted bathroom had a tub/shower and powerful fan. The medium sized TV had a hotel guide with 52 channels(CNBC, CNN, ESPN, HGTV, MSNBC, networks, etc). Good secure wifi, ample outlets, good lighting and under window AC/heat. The 7AM breakfast was very good: OJ, apples, raisin bran, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, bread and coffees. Overall, we had a quiet night’s sleep and enjoyed our stay.

I thought the property was very clean. Our room was clean. The pillows are not comfortable at all so bring your own. The breakfast was great and had a ton of options! Additional seating in another room. The hot tub was hot and the pool was nice. Overall great stay and would recommend!

I have never been to Tea SD, but I like this little suburb of Sioux Falls. It was a quick overnight stay after landing in the airport a few miles to the north. Making reservations online was quick and convenient. Check in was pleasant and without incident. The property itself is really nice looking. The traffic reroute and stop lights changed the pattern of ingress, so use the entrance by the coffee shop.
