Following the management change at Cape Byron Retreat, I would avoid staying at this retreat at all costs. We went for a few days and arrived to a dark and abandoned property, where we were provided no amenities. The first night, the key broke in the door. We had to follow up with the property managers (A Perfect Stay), who did not provide any solutions apart from suggesting we find a stick to bar the door. as for our luggage, we had to hope no one thought to rummage through the other empty rooms to take our things over the course of the evening throughout a large portion of the day. After calling A Perfect Stay numerous times over the course of the day, the key was finally changed and we were left a bottle of shampoo and conditioner — all organized by the employees of A Perfect Stay. I was unable to ever get ahold of their manager to discuss the situation, who left me one message four days later and then did not respond to any further calls or emails. I would recommend anyone who wishes to stay in the pittoresque Byron Bay find literally any other accommodation than staying with A Perfect Stay, not only from a comfort perspective but from a safety concern. They do not care about their customers at all and leave you to sort out any issue that may arise on your own.
