The only good point about this property is the location - very peaceful, easily accessible and a short drive into town. Cooked breakfast 1st morning was very good, 2nd day fruit and muesli average. That’s where the good news ends. Disliked · We are at a loss, as to why there are good reviews of Azabu. The property, and the rooms, have been neglected , are shabby, and badly in need of renovations. The pool didn’t look too inviting . Cleanliness and hygiene are well below par. Rooms are sparsely furnished, not conducive for relaxing, and the only view we had from our room was a 2 metre bamboo fence! , with a postage stamp size balcony . The host begrudgingly changed our rooms after we complained , and whilst he acknowledged that the property needs serious improvements, his attitude was indifferent, and he was quite rude and offhand about the matter. Obviously guest relations is not a priority. The photos on *********** are inaccurate and misleading. Our special weekend was ruined by staying at Azabu.

My boyfriend and I went here as a birthday present for myself. To sum it up, our time spent at Azabu was fantastic! TP took excellent care of us throughout the whole stay. I had a lovely, deep massage and felt so relaxed afterwards. The venue was serene and immersed within the forest as our balcony looked onto the trees. My favourite part of the stay was the wonderful breakfast brought to our rooms. We loved our time spent there!

The property is older and has more wear and tear than presented. Also the rooms are small, and there was significant noise from other rooms. Fine if you need to be near Byron Bay but more of a basic place to stay.

The host is lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately our room had ants when we arrived, we were simply directed to use bug spray which was in the room, which was a less than ideal response. Bathroom was a little dirty. The balcony backing onto the bush land was lovely and hearing the nature was calming. Overall, did the job for a one night last minute stay, but I wouldn’t say it’s 4 star or worth what we paid.

Perfect couples private quiet location. Service was professional and very friendly. Breakfast was wonderful, bedroom views amazing. Pool was great for a late day dip and relaxing in the hot tub. Really enjoyed the 3 nights couple retreat. East to drive to Byron Bay, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

My friend and I enjoyed our 3 day retreat so much. The King Room was lovely, a little run down. We both found the beds and pillows needed renewing. The veranda was a quiet, comfortable spot to relax and take in the beautiful gardens and the sounds of nature. The spa treatments were wonderful. A big thank you to Kirsty who had amazing hands for massage and a beautiful kind soul. Highly recommend her relaxing & therapeutic massages. TP, the owner / manager made us comfortable and attended to anything we needed with a great story and a chat. He makes a wonderful breakfast. A tucked away tranquil retreat.

Sent my son there for his 21st (with his girl) for four nights. He came home with the most horrific pics and stories of his stay. Mould on the walls, dirt and dust everwhere. TV was falling off the wall. Pool was unclean and murky. Bamboo (in advertising pics) was chopped down and falling everywhere. Shower area was full of mould and the shower head was blocked so didnt work properly. He had to scrub the spa in his room clean before they could use it. We tried to communicate with the owner and have met with silence. $500 a night to give my boy a 21st present...its ciminal. Please do yourself a favour and stay well away from this so called resort.

My partner and I came here for our Babymoon and it was hands down one of the most relaxing holidays of my life. Not only was the owner TP welcoming and friendly, he went out of his way to make our stay pleasurable. From the beautiful breakfasts to the charcuterie board for dinner one night to the effort put in to taking some photos of us when my partner proposed, everything was absolutely amazing. The massages were incredible and well worth every penny. If you're looking for a chill getaway where you can be pampered and well cared for, look no further than Azabu. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again, TP! You helped make our babymoon just perfect :)
