Marea Boutique Hotels

A quiet boutique hotel in the centre of Sliema . Reception available between 8 am and 4 pm but no issues getting in out of hours through the access pad. room was clean and comfortable, modern and up to date. The pillow menu was a bonus for someone who needs a soft pillow to sleep ! Its built in the middle of Sliema -so a walk down in whatever direction you want to go in on a gentle but prolonged slope. It is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. A continental breakfast can be ordered but loads of cafes within 10 minutes walk

I stayed at this lovely hotel while I was working on a huge movie. The room was maintained beautifully and the view was breathtaking…. The breakfast was the best part of the day with one standout member of staff. Marleny was the best part of staying there. Her warm spirit and captivating personality made it an extra special stay. Actually ALL the breakfast staff were lovely…The cleaning crew were also lovely. The front desk personnel were also fantastic and very accommodating with the expectation of one man ( not sure of his name, but he was larger with some type of ponytail) he spoke very harshly and condescending to me on two occasions and I found him dismissive and rude…Other than that, the experience was wonderful. The GM was also a lovely lady and made sure we had passes to the gym and spa that were not on the premises. A wonderful experience overall.
Sliema Chalet Hotel
3.6/541 Reviews
The location boasted proximity to the coast, shops, and restaurants. However, the room itself presented numerous issues: 1. Despite attempts to invite natural light, the room remained excessively dark due to taped or covered windows, offering only a shaft-view. This created a nearly pitch-black atmosphere, accompanied by disruptive sounds such as water dripping from the air conditioning unit or clicking noises. 2. Persistent clicking noises persisted both with the window open and closed, significantly disrupting sleep. 3. The room did not align with the amenities depicted in online photos, such as a missing table and chairs, leading to a sense of false advertising. Additionally, there was no mention of the shaft-view or the lack of natural light. 4. Cleanliness was lacking, with visible stains on the sink and bathroom wall, leaving an unpleasant odor. 5. Despite promises of Wi-Fi, it only functioned on the first day, causing inconvenience despite efforts by the receptionist to rectify the issue. 6. A displeasing odor upon entry suggested inadequate ventilation or cleanliness standards. 7. The room featured worn-down furnishings, reflecting a lack of investment in maintaining a comfortable environment, contributing to an overall disappointing and depressing ambiance. 8. Difficulty in regulating the water temperature in the shower added further discomfort, swinging between cold and scalding hot. 9. The lack of a duvet and provision of only a thin sheet offered inadequate protection during winter months. 10. Requests to change rooms proved futile, as alternatives offered were disappointingly similar, indicating persistent issues with standard accommodations. 11. The hotel staff's refusal to provide a stay invoice and redirecting responsibility to the booking platform added unnecessary frustration, reflecting a disappointing level of customer service. Ultimately, the hotel's refusal to provide compensation or accept responsibility led to the guest checking out early, resulting in the loss of money and the need to book alternative accommodations.
1926 le Soleil Hotel & Spa

This is such a treat, to write about a hotel we loved. This truly is made so special by the staff, from the top to the bottom. Fabulous attitudes to guests from the staff, the reception team are super welcoming . Rooms are modern and spacious , some boast sea views. Breakfast was as good as any , without a 'Four seasons 'price tag. And when the General manager offers you a coffee as he sees that breakfast was busy!!! We were blown away, normally everyone is busy so you get ignored not here. Margaux restaurant is great use of the space in the evening , saves going out. Great cocktails served in the bar in the evening at great prices. Stand out member of staff was Petra on reception. Great view from the beach front bar.
Mr Todd Hotel

Positives - Very clean and large rooms. Good showers and towels. Breakfast is served in MR TODD - 2 mins walk down the road. Breakfast was superb! Plenty of hot and cold choices. Hot and cold drinks too. Lovely staff that kept things clean and fully stocked. Receptionists were all lovely too. Negatives - rooms at LADY TODD are on a crossroads and are very noisy day and night. I had earplugs and am so glad I did. We would probably ask for a room in MR TODD next time as they have rooms at the back and away from traffic noise. A special mention to Oscar and Juliesa.... lovely people!

Paceville
super relaxing and literally right next to the hotspot of paceville where all the restaurants and shopping centres are, quick car ride to valetta and sliema, service was amazing and room was super super clean. very new hotel so everything was new and clean, they gave us wooden toothbrushes and nice smelling soap, ventilation was good and air conditioning was powerful, no swimming pool or balcony unfortunately but breakfast included and was very yummy, good selection of breakfast foods, service was utterly impeccable. rooms are soundproof so you can’t hear the music of the clubs from the outside. stayed there for three nights and enjoyed each one. would definitely stay again
