Very warm welcome for us all and our three dogs. Service and food superb, also plenty of gluten and dairy free options and great value too. A lovely olde worlde 305 year old inn very atmospheric. Couldn't fault a thing. It was fabulous thank you we shall definitely be back.

Stayed at the Queens Head for two nights for a business trip. The room was excellent with very modern facilities and a modern and exceptionally clean bathroom. Jase and every member of the team who I dealt with during my stay were fantastic. I am already looking forward to my next stay in July.

Hadn't visited this place for 25 years so thought it was about time we returned so we booked two nights. The room was great, well laid out , everything looked new and spotlessly clean- we had room 7 with a bath. Staff were very friendly especially the head chef - whose food offering was very good . Must make a special mention for Mandy who served at breakfast and also serviced the rooms - she is a great attribute to the place. All in all a nice stay and we would return.

A great option away from the tourist trap of Pooley Bridge. 300+ years old so loads of character with an open fire and beams. Food was great with lots of choice including specials. Beer was excellent - the Dizzy Blonde highly recommended. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Booked Saturday lunch here on back of reviews, and was not disappointed! Fantastic service, amazing food, great atmosphere and value for money! Will definitely be back and recommend a visit if you're in the area! Ps - the ham, egg and chips were a huge hit

We had prebooked a table through the website for Saturday, early evening. Arrived on time (car park at the back and more spaces on the roadside) and got seated straight away next to the bar. Cosy little table surrounded by loads of character. Its an old place and bordering on the 'out of date' and in need of a bit of a refurb. However, I don't think it does really. The 'oldness' adds to the charm and feel of the place. Staff were all friendly, chatting and very professional. Food and drinks ordered. Food took an acceptable 15-20 mins to arrive. Good quality, well cooked. I wouldn't say it was anything super special. The portion sizes were only just enough. Taking into account the increased prices of everything, I would have just liked a little more for the money paid. A bit more coleslaw, a side salad, it wouldn't have taken much. This is the only reason why I have rated it 4 out of 5 rather than a full 5 out of 5! We will 100% return again 4 main meals and a drink each - £84.00 (£21.00 each) PS. Open fire in the dining area wasn't on and the temperature was bordering on the cold side. Always nice to have an open fire blazing away. Makes you want to stay longer and spend more money (free tip to the landlord)!

This is the perfect stop off point if travelling from the South to Scotland. Great, friendly staff, excellent off road parking, spacious bars and restaurant with good atmosphere. Although on the roadside there was no noise at night. and beds were comfy. Fresh milk available in the upstairs corridor. Nicely decorated throughout, bedrooms have everything you need but are "bijou". Take in small bags. We enjoyed the Scampi and chips, and excellent breakfast. The evening menu is heavy on fried food. Our Border Terrier enjoyed her visit, exercise area up to the left and over the road and bins available. We would visit again!

Stayed here overnight - really impressed by this traditional inn, offering great quality accommodation and tasty food. Rooms were small but beautifully refurbished , clean, comfy and well equipped. Staff were friendly and trained well - great service. Love the values of this small local chain - great to see them investing in local inns and creating welcoming and well run pubs with rooms. Will keep in mind too when looking for overnight just off M6. Would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional inn offering quality at an affordable price!

Popped in here after a local hike for a drink and some well needed food with our dog. The lady working - I didn’t catch her name unfortunately, Was super helpful and served us straight away with no delays. Me and my partner both ordered the fish & chips and it was just delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had. Our dog was also served a bowl of water and we ordered him a bowl of sausages too which went down a treat after his long walk. Thanks guys. If we are ever in the area again we will return!
