Location very central. I love the big balcony and everything functional although the interior of room appears aged and tired. Cleanliness ok. The price is excellent. I also love the buffet breakfast which is very delicious. Highly recommended.

The hotel it’s located downtown within walking distance from places of interest. The metro station of Sedrica is about a couple of minutes walk away.

Location is top of the consideration. Centre located that you can walk to most popular attraction. Metro or tram is very close within steps. Hotel is partly renovated. I believe it will be amazing when finished. Breakfast is not included. 15 Lev per person with small buffet that you can choose most popular items, ie, eggs, ham, sausages, breads or cereals. But they are not very hot on the warmers. However, I would still recommend people to go there for sleep and shower. Room was big enough and balcony overlook the city. Price is very good compare to same standard 3 stars hotel. Staff speaks reasonable English that is convenient. Good luck!

The Rila Hotel is an old hotel with old facilities, shoe box size elevators but in a very central part of the town near to everything. Our first night we stayed in a standard small room ( I think it cost $46 maybe $50 with taxes etc )that was not satisfactory. The next day for $10 - $12 per day upgrade we moved into a double size spacious/suite room with 2 balconies !! Very nice to sit out on the balcony with the afternoon setting sun and to wash out a few cloth items and let the sun dry them. Neither of the rooms had shower curtains in the bathrooms. When i enquired about this I was told this was done because of covid. Hhmmm not sure how a shower curtain has any bearing on covid ? We stayed a total of 7 nights and only once, after I called down to the front desk, did a chamer maid come up and take out the garbage and change the towels. To be fair my girlfriend has a habit of spreading all her things all over the 2 rooms so we hesitated to make a fuss. I can imagine a maid being shocked to walk in and not know what to do in all the mess. Breakfast cost extra and was only ok but enough to start the day. There was a large flat screen TV which we never turned on, there was no safe deposit box in the room but we were able to leave our valuables downstairs at the front desk. There are other hotels also nearby that are probably more renovated and modern and most likely cost a little more. On our next trip we most likely will see about other options. The staff was friendly and helpful. I guess it depends on what your expectations are but for us it worked.

It is located in the center of Sofia. It is close to tourist attractions and downtown. The location was excellent. However, the rooms were old and the amenities were poor. It was a bit disappointing.

我被安排入住舊樓層,但我的朋友安排入住6樓的新裝修樓層,這令我感到非常失望。不滿意。

Checking in was slightly difficult and took 20 mins or so because the check in staff couldn’t understand that we had already booked a room and didn’t need one booking!! (We booked through ******* so this was meant to make this process a lot easier!) The rooms were dated, clean but dated, my plug socket was hanging off the wall, there were nibs to draws loose, but overall it was “fine” I was happy with the bed, the shower wasn’t great but did the job, the TV actually had Netflix which I found out on the last day when playing around, which has bumped my review up a little bit. The location is great, it’s a 5 min walk from Serdika Metro station and a 5 min walk from the main boulevard. All of the sights are within 15 min walk, Lidl and Carrefour within 5 mins, you can get a metro from T2 Airport to Serdika which takes approximately 20 mins. (If you land at T1 you’ll need to get the shuttle bus) — The view from the balcony was beautiful, I will attach pictures, the mountain range and the little square looked lovely in the mornings. They had renovated the lobby area to be modern and luxury but the rooms are still dated, I noticed some furniture that is clearly new so maybe they have started renovating them bit by bit. Overall 3* — if you’re staying for a few nights I recommend this hotel, purely for location.

I stayed 3 days here in Economy Twin Room. The interior is very aged and tired, even some parts are torn (but lobby very modern and chill). Yet, I don't mind at all and I like it very much for: 1) I got a balcony overlooking a square, sometimes some street musicians played their instruments making a wonderful vibe for me 2) not dirty, everything functional and comfy. My room type has no hair dryer but it's available on request 3) room airy 4) excellent price 5) location central, 2 mins walk will arrive at the main shopping street 6) buffet breakfast is delicious I at the end booked one more day on the spot and stayed till 5pm only before catching my flight in evening.

I spent 3 nights in a twin renovated room located on the 5oo floor. The room was tidy, warm and comfortable. The rooms comes with a nespresso coffee machine and coffee pods are provided on a daily base. In addition to 2 small bottles of mineral water are provided everyday. Last but not least the rooms comes with a fridge which is a much appreciated plus.

The hotel is very old and the tub is so deep and slippery. I was so scared of taking a shower. At night time there was partying and drinking until dawn. It gets so loud we couldn’t sleep. And in the morning trucks come by to collect alcohol bottles from the street.

Location and service This Hotel is located close to all the tourist sites in Sofia. Within 3 to 7 minutes you can walk to everything. There are 2 sets of room, economy and deluxe. When we arrived I ask about the room, we were shown the two choices and went for the higher floor 7 remodel room. Which had a kettle, a bar fridge and a hairdryer. Hand soap and body wash was by dispenser. New white Towels with hotel crest, beds were comfy, view was beautiful. Elevators work just fine, yes it’s old, but have similar in many parts of Europe. There are two and we never had to wait more than few seconds. Staff were nice at all times, pleasant, welcoming and order taxi for you. Everything is clean. Yes there is restaurant and a club but noise did not bother us on the 7 floor. Washroom is clean and new. Lighting in the room was excellent and had reading lights as well. What we didn’t like. The hallway is painted black but I think it’s meant to be a dark green. Room is painted very dark as well, though around the entrance had a colourful wall paper. Apart from Holiday Inn, all hotels walls are very light coloured.

The staff was very friendly and the location is amazing, and the balcony view is perfect. However there were so many other issues. Through the bathroom vents, I could hear the guests staying at the room next to us. I thought closing the bathroom door would solve the problem but then through the wall, I could hear the other guests in the next room better than I could hear my own voice. I don’t really mind the old furniture, but the freezer looked terrifying and just very unclean. If you’re a low maintenance person, sure this place can work. Personally I didn’t mind it that much, mainly because of the convenient location, but some of the things I mentioned are definitely fixable.
