I am usually not too picky about my hotel rooms. I have stayed in many over my life. I booked this hotel at a 2.5 star rating through hotwire. While I know the stay was not refundable, I was okay with this because I want not expecting a 4 star hotel, but a clean 2.5 star hotel. When my husband and I arrived at the hotel in the evening of May 18th we were given 1 king size room that was not cleaned by the cleaning crew. We were told by the front desk girl (who was lovely) that they were having trouble with the cleaning crew lately. She gave us another king size room on the 2nd floor and when we entered, it had a mildew sent. As we walked over to the window area we could see mold on the baseboard of the wall and heard water dripping down. While we looked at ceiling we could see bubbles in the paint indicating there was prob water damage. I documented some of this via my phone. Because it was late and we were of course annoyed that we had to go through 2 rooms and neither were what I would think and probably most people would think "safe", we checked out, the man who was now at the front desk simply replied "sorry" to my husband. Since we had traveled far from NYC we had to go next door to the Holiday Inn Express and book another room for 2 nights. Because, of our unsatisfactory stay at this Quality Inn we contacted hotwire in the hopes of a refund because clearly the hotel did not deliver what they are expected to as a 2.5 star hotel. Actually they did not deliver on even less than that. No one should have to go through 2 rooms and still not have a satisfactory room that was clean and safe. We were unfortunately not granted a refund because the hotel itself is not agreeing to it. I find this very unprofessional and because of this will not be staying at another Quality Inn and most likely will never use Hotwire again. I will also be advising many business colleagues and friends to avoid them as well.
