Holiday Club Katinkulta

Apartment 5D4 is located in a splendid location, next to the forest. Everything you need can be found in the apartment. The sun shines on the terrace from 7 AM to 3 PM. The sauna is small and nice, the fireplace crowns the interior. The kitchen has everything necessary. The only thing missing is a double bed. The beds are 100 cm wide and are difficult to combine. In winter, the ski trail starts almost at the door; when there is no snow, there are many hiking trails. A walking distance to Katinkulta services and the spa. A snooker table is located in the basement of the bowling alley. The restaurants are not the best possible. Classic Pizza, Hangover pizzas, 20 euros, in our order were cold and one edge of the pizza was burnt. O'Learys, hamburgers 25 euros. The price is high; go to Sotkamo, 7 km away, there you can find many meals at half the price. In Sotkamo there are also flea markets, lunch restaurants, a bakery offering sourdough rye breads, a baseball stadium in summer… etc.

Very good location. However, midnight motorcycle noise can be annoying.

Majoitus oli pettymys. Ei ollut huomioitu koiran kanssa majoittumista, vaikka tieto oli. Huoneistossa ei ollut viileä/jääkaappia, pinnat ränsistyneitä, henkilökunta totista/hymytöntä. Hinta-laatusuhde ei ihan kohdannut.

There was no hot water at the bathroom, kitchen and toilet at 23:00 o'clok.The receptionist told: "somebody will fix it tomorrow" Everything was dirty, nobody was coming during whole week to clean the room. My wife has cleaned flors with the mop we have bought ourselves.

We had a ”suite” WITHOUT air conditioning, any cleaning, minibar, comfy sofa bed, fluffy pillows, dust-free surfaces, clean smelling toilets, intact wall papers, hole-less walls and doors. Reception service was also cold and unwelcoming. Spa was nice. Don’t expect any high quality from suites. Outdated and damaged. They don’t clean rooms at all during your stay, not even empty trashes. Don’t stay in the hotel, other accommodation is way better. Wifi worked only on balcony and toilet, not in the room.

Nice relaxation spa hotel Nice place. Reception was very cold and not helping about lunch. We ended up in Urheiluopisto to eat. The sauna world and the spa facilities were very relaxing and enjoyable. Made us enjoy our stay...

The rooms are outdated, blankets missing, reception is seriously lacking manpower, expect to wait forever. You’d expect that 139€/night would at least get you a fridge in the room but not here. Absolutely horrendous place. Choose Sokos Hotel every time when visiting Vuokatti. You’ll regret coming to Katinkulta.

Value for money Huge selection of activities, including golf. Everything works perfectly. Strongly recommended.
