Hotels near Church of St. Mary Magdalene, South Cambridgeshire District

The hotel was a little bit further than I expected from the town centre. There is a bus route that can go to the town but it's up to a 10 min walk. It would be great if the hotel provided at least a shuttle service because taxis were also quite expensive just for a few miles. The hotel itself was presentable, the staff was helpful and nice, and the rooms were also spacious enough and clean with all the usual amenities. My room had the disabled bathroom so it was a little bigger I think but the drainage needs sorting out because the whole floor almost flooded with water. The heating A/C was working well and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was included in the price and the choice was basic but enough. I did feel that the plate was smaller than many other places I've stayed at but I guess that was to avoid food waste. They had scambled egg only, sausages, bacon, beans, toast, tea/coffee/juice, 3 cereals and spreads for toast-not bad but could be a little better in variety.

This hotel has an excellent location near the station with very easy links to the city centre. It has a car-park and it is in excellent decorative order. We were impressed by our good-sized, well-equipped room. And the food was good. We recommend it very highly.

We had stayed earlier in February so when we had to return sadly for a funeral it was our first choice plus it is such a lovely quiet location with free parking and was all the more beautiful for the sunshine and onset of spring. Jane and Mark had clearly been busy updating the decor which was fabulous with stunning rich curtain fabrics and cushions - each room is themed - with beautiful art featuring flora and fauna - this time I had the kingsize room with the slipper bath at the end of the landing and my mother had the same room at the top of the stairs with the walk in shower. The same fantastic service and delicious breakfast - this time I had the fruit salad and then smoked salmon with scrambled eggs! Jane is a super talented crafty lady - they had recently opened their shop at the front of the B&B - filled with the most wonderful handmade cards and notebooks plus so many unique and beautiful crafts for sale including childrens clothes and toys - plus Mark runs a picture framing business on site too! My mother and I are keen florists and were touched to be given huge bunches of curly willow tree branches - perfect for my Easter tree arrangement! Such a lovely stay with very kind and considerate hosts. We will be back.

The location is very good, directly opposite Starbucks, there are several Chinese restaurants on the street, go out for food without worry. It is also convenient to walk to the scenic spot. The entrance to the door is quaint, with a sense of nostalgia.

The boutique hotel host up to rooms with Chinese and European style interiors and have a beautiful public spaces which house bars and communal outdoor areas. The art style interior of the rooms is characterized by combining the past and the future. Everything comes from Cambridge history. The homey and comfortable Mattresses is why I chosen here, we spend around a third of our lives in bed, should give ourselves the best experience, and highest quality rest we can. Excellent value. Breakfast and garden dinner were always a good choice. We will definitely come back in the future!!!

The hotel is in a good location. You can walk everywhere. It is surrounded by the most popular attractions in Cambridge. The room facilities are a bit old but the space is quite large. The breakfast is OK.

Firstly, I have to say, some of the reviews here are a poor reflection on what actually is offered. The hotel and gardens itself is stunningly beautiful, and the rooms although small are gorgeously decorated and have most things you would need in them, including a fan. You have to realise this is a very old building, so it will have its charms (for example, not all windows will open in the older part of the house) but overall, the beauty of the rooms outweigh these small details, and the rooms are thoughtful and homely. Alison runs a ”dry venue” so she will make sure everything runs to plan, but really it is up to you to make sure the day runs as it should. They don't have facility to offer you a bar/restaurant - however what they do offer is very well executed. They are pretty hands off, which is fine, I just asked permission for what I needed, briefed everyone thoroughly and the day went without a hitch. I personally couldn't have been happier. Check-in is from 1500 which is stated when you book the room, which for the majority of people who came to our wedding was fine, it is contactless, no issue there as far as I'm concerned. The bridal suite isn't available until 11am - which in my case was fine. I paid for another room in which to get ready and leave my dress etc the day before which saved a scramble on the day. It was only up the corridor from the bridal suite and I only took what I needed. The caterer RF recommend - CDC are absolutely flawless, and our food and drinks service was absolutely outstanding. Sam who was put in charge of running our day, and Ellena who looked after us in the lead up were absolutely fantastic. The food was tasty, hot, and plentiful, we opted for buffet style and I can't find a single guest who had anything negative to say about the entire day. I hired a company to decorate and pack down my marquee the next day - and someone to deliver my wine (a man in a van) which was a godsend as again, no faff! Without the help of these companies you would end up doing it yourself, and in the terms of the contract you do have to vacate the marquee by 10am so do bear this in mind. I think considering my wedding isn't the only one this year (shocking, I know) that was absolutely fair enough, and these times were easily achievable by my team. CDC cleared everything to the side - bless them, and Roger locked the marquee overnight so everything was easily packed into our car the next day and safe. Breakfast did change in the time between booking and getting married, but the English charm of the self boiled eggs, the portmerion dishes and the little pots of tea and toast was adorable and not far away from what I would have wanted had I been at home.
