Isla Grand Beach Resort

Great place. We have been the last 3 years. Trip was able to get me a great price.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for the weekend. We chose this place because it's got a nice location on the beach and a nice lounge with live music we enjoyed. The pool looks really nice at night so we figured it would be great during the day too but we were wrong. When we checked in the room we got with a beach view was at an angle which I thought was weird but ok. I had brought a big suitcase and there was no elevator, I asked for a bottom floor they told me they were all booked. Fine. We got 2 wristbands they said any guests we have would need to get one to be on the property. We figured it would be ok and thought nothing of it. Walking to our room the building looks very old and very worn out. The ice machine in our section was broken and rusted so every time we needed ice, we had to walk super far and down the stairs. There is no microwave in the room. The room was decently clean but you could see dust on the walls so it wasn't really clean and the couch had stains all over it. The hook to hang your bathrobe in the bathroom was broken. It just was not great for the price I paid. The next day, the kids came by to pick us up to go out on the town, they were threatened by security that their car would be towed even in they were there for a bit to wait for us to change so we had to go get them wristbands even though they were not staying or hanging out on the property so we did. Walked a super long way with 3 kids in their 20s and one small one. The front desk said not to worry about the car but they could only give us 2 wristbands and the rest is another $20 each. Ok. Fine. I'm pretty annoyed at this point. So we go out for the day to places away and come back later, my son gets hassled again even with a wristband by the security. They leave for the night and we stayed. The lounge is nice we normally have no issues with the music but this time the keyboard player makes a joke I did not appreciate about marrying a Mexican girl, then he says, oh no I would NEVER do that. That felt a little ****** since he was African American. Anyways, they had an after hours bar and the bartender had a bad attitude was totally not friendly or welcoming at all. Just would never stay here again, it's not worth the price for all the hassle and it's not even kept clean there's too much old or beat up furniture. The pool looks nice at night though like I mentioned earlier. They don't have free breakfast or a cocktail hour.

Isla Grand Beach Resort is a great place to stay. The resort offers No Resort Fee, Free Breakfast, and Free welcome Gifts at check-in. Their customer service never hang up on customers and do not make guests wait on the phone for more than one hour. All charges are clear with detailed receipts. Overall, Isla Grand Beach Resort is great, remember to ask for your Free breakfast!!

We had a lovely stay here - relaxing and fun. The bar staff are amazing and we really enjoyed it. On our first night we made the mistake of eating in the restaurant. The food was fine, and the room was almost empty. They serve till 9 but just after 8 the sweeper comes out and they start to clean the carpet under the table next to us. Back and forth endlessly. I asked them to stop but they said they were just trying to get ahead. Never mind the paying customers sitting right there. The next day we had breakfast at Yummys (wonderful) and dinner at the Japanese restaurant next door where the staff were pleased to see us and waited until we’d gone to clean up. The chef there is brilliant. A much better evening!
