Premier Inn South Shields Port of Tyne

After a year of two of looking a bit tired, hotel is recently refurbished and rooms are lovely. Looks like a boutique hotel room. Bathroom has huge walk in shower. New breakfast room is open so you can, after 2 years, actually have breakfast there. Food was lovely and couldn't fault anything. Staff, as always, are really very friendless and helpful. Reception is last area awaiting refurbishment, but still looks nice.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and warm and not noisy. The room was also spacious for a family of 4. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was yummy with a good selection and not busy like other premier inns. Brooke and Valerie are both lovely.

Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were really exceptional. Valarie & Brooke for breakfast, plenty of choice, well cooked.. Sam at reception. The staff could not do enough for us. We’ve never stayed at a nicer hotel. Thank you for the lovely experience.

We stayed here for two nights, and were highly impressed. Other hotels could learn a lot from this team! The service is amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Valerie and Brooke who look after the breakfast were brilliant. Sam on reception too. They made the stay really comfortable. The rooms are also great, clean, comfortable and well designed.

This is one of the best Premier Inns I’ve stayed in, in regards to the staff. They were extremely polite and professional from start to finish, they went above and beyond to help accommodate our stay. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment and does need some work to the outer area, however it never effected our stay and we seemed to have a room that had been recently renovated which smelt delightful and felt very clean. The only disadvantage I feel is there was no bar! But don’t let this put you off.. (take your own drinks) the staff and service received certainly makes up for it! hopefully the pub will re-open soon. They do have a small dining area which we booked for breakfast. This again is so lovely and helps having friendly accommodating staff for your requirements. TRUST - just to add we left a kindle in the room after checking out the cleaner advised reception and they came to find us to return it. With the service we received and all the staff here we will definitely return to this Premier Inn when we visit the area again. Thanks all for making our stay perfect :-)

Absolutely the most comfortable stay we have had in a premier inn! New, spacious, immaculate rooms. Staff are so welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast is first class! Special mention of Valerie, Brooke and Helen for their hospitality.

The staff at the hotel always goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay and are always happy to help with any issues you may have.

Really easy check in process, very friendly staff. The room is much bigger than expected with soft lighting option for the evening in main room and bathroom. Morning breakfast is delicious has something for everyone available, the staff are so welcoming, engaging with the children and nothing is to much bother especially Helen & Brooke.

Upon arrival learned that the adjacent restaurant and bar had closed down and was actually up for sale. I find this very unprofessional from Premier Inn as it is advertised as having a bar and restaurant. This led to many expensive taxi journeys as the hotel is not in walking distance to any amenities. How can Premier Inn falsely advertise this hotel as having a bar and a restaurant and obviously doesn't. Very disgruntled and couldn't wait to leave which is a massive disappointment as we don't get the chance to get away much.
