The Leicester

We had the greatest pleasure in staying at this hotel. Cliff, the owner, had kindly reserved a parking space as one of us is disabled. He was good enough to help us to our room with our case. A very thorough explanation of the room followed. What a nice welcome. The room was on the small size but had everything you need for a short stay. Tea & coffee facilities, a hair dryer, safe and even an iron and board. The room was spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. Pillows are a very personal thing, and they were a bit on the firm side for my taste. The breakfast was made to order and there was everything you could wish for from a full English to smoked haddock and poached eggs and lots more. Overall, a fantastic place to stay in Southport. Definitely worth its 5-star rating.

Stayed last night beautiful little hotel. Had a single room lovely comfortable bed with all amenities tea tray shampoo and shower gel provided. What can I say about the breakfast. I have stayed in a lot of B&B and can say hand on heart best breakfast I've ever had beautiful fresh produce and cooked to order. Cliff even gave me the name of the supplier. Would definitely stay again. Lovely little hotel run by really nice family

Excellent hosts, super friendly and wcelcomin. We had a quick and easy check in and out, a spotless room, the most comfortable bed and a gorgeous full English. The rooms had everything you needed.. toiletries, tea and coffee, iron and board, even a fan that came in handy as it was a warm day.. What more could you ask for!!

Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Lovely, clean, comfortable room, great breakfast. Good on site parking. Good location. The hosts went above and beyond decorating our room for my partner's birthday. Couldn't find any faults, well worth a stay.

Lovely hotel spotless lovely hosts great variety of breakfast Nice little touches , surprise iron and ironing board and hairdryer in room , we didn’t expect this with what we paid for the room , lovely room and dining room we would definitely go back and highly recommend this hotel

Enjoyed another stay at this lovely hotel. My wife and I have been staying in Southport for many years and used a number of hotels but the Leicester is the best. We would not stay anywhere else. It is excellent. Lovely hosts with delicious, well prepared food.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel very welcome. We had a free upgraded room on arrival which was a nice surprise. The hotel is situated very close to everything only a 5 minute walk to the promenade and 10minutes into the town. Breakfast was exceptional everything is cooked to order . overall I would recommend this hotel and we will definitely return

A warm welcome when we arrived for our 1 night stay. Shown to room 10. Up on the top floor. Room and whole hotel was very clean and well decorated. Large bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom a decent size, with a shower only. Breakfast was superb! Great stay.

A warm welcome as ever from Cliff,on a wet Friday evening in February.I cannot but smile everytime I return to the Leicester, it's like visiting an old friend! I was offered a larger, twin room because staying for weekend,so got to stay in a room I hadn't done so before. As usual a unique room,beautifully set up and colour co-ordinated. 5 minute walk away to The Swan fish and chip restaurant to meet friends-vest one in Southport,then off to the start of Love Folk Festival at the Atkinson. The Leicester is at the beginning of Lord Street, on a quiet street,so always sleep soundly. Breakfast absolutely delicious,piping hot ,made to order ,fantastic quality ingredients especially enjoyed the sausage and bacon. On day of departure had the special haddock and poached eggs,always a winner!!!
