The Queens Hotel Portsmouth

Lovely stay at the The Queens Hotel with my girlfriend. The hotel was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and all amenities were available at our disposal. Really relaxing experience and would happily stay again.

Conveniently located by the pier and Southseas, it’s a little bit further from Portsmouth & Southsea Rail station. The hotel is beautiful. As it’s a historic venue, less well suited for business (eg, shortage of outlets to charge multiple devices and the desk is a little small if you need to get online to clear some work). Would stay here again for the ambience and beautiful interior but not if intended to work while on holiday.

Location and service is great specially at reception. Tea at Breakfast was cold and lift is very slow. Love the interior of the hotel and room. Good value for price

Stayed for one night over the hot bank holiday weekend. Hotel entrance makes a good first impression, great location overlooking the Common and short walk to the promenade. Try to book direct , we called up & they matched the price we’d found on another site & if possible they will upgrade your room if you ask & a room is available . We’d booked a standard double room & Tilly on reception kindly got us a superior sea view room overlooking the common and pier . Spent the bank holiday Monday relaxing in the garden listening to a live singer , drinks are on the expensive side but service was good . No air con in the rooms & windows didn’t open very wide but they did provide an additional fan . when requested . Not their fault it was 30 degrees ! Had breakfast was included , continental & cereals were self service but hot food was ordered from a menu . Had full English & Eggs Royale , found ingredients to be good quality . Would definitely stay again as it is such a beautiful old building with lots of interesting photos of famous guests .

Went for afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday and I couldn’t fault it. The service from as soon as we arrived was friendly and really professional by all staff and especially Karen where nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t get rushed out but we were checked on and fresh tea provided as needed. I think it’s a really good price for the quality of food and service.

Excellent service from start to finish from very friendly staff especially the barman very friendly and helpful. The hotel gives the wow factor as you enter. The room was excellent, way above what we were expecting. must have been an upgrade as we had a sea view and a balcony. The room was very comfortable as was the bed had a great nights sleep. Also you have free parking At the hotel with a good amount of parking bays. We would highly recommend the Queens Hotel if you are looking for a hotel in the area. The room was spotless

We attended a Christmas party night with an over night stay with breakfast. The lobby area with its impressively dressed Christmas Tree is wonderful. Check-in was swift but informative and soon we were in our room 111 which has a sea view and was spacious and had all the amenities we needed - including an iron & board. On a summers day the view would have been amazing but unfortunately it’s winter and it was raining heavily so we didn’t use the balcony. We joined our friends in the bar before going into the Elizabeth suite for our party. Everything was well organised from the arrival drink to the 3 course meal which was to a high standard for a banqueting meal. I would like to give a special mention to Amanda who made our night by looking after us so well. Breakfast the next day was lovely with a big choice of options and attentive staff.
