We wanted a luxury break,but this hotel wasn’t that. We have stayed in much cheaper places that offered considerably more. On arrival, they told us the restaurant was fully booked, although there were very few people there. They couldn’t offer any bar snacks, or room service. We were forced to leave the hotel to find somewhere to eat. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the pool offered on the website. There is an extra charge of 17€ per person per day. This was not clear on the website. We felt misled. Children are given a very limited time to use the pool. This coincided with meal time and then bedtime. Especially as we had to venture out to find somewhere to eat. The hotel was VERY tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Chair legs were broken, the carpets were ripped, the skirting boards etc damaged. Paint was peeling everywhere. A superior room was not particularly superior. The bathroom was nice, but the mattress on the bed was sagging in many places. The room was clean, but there were plenty of areas that needed repainting. The selection of food at breakfast was good and catered for a variety of tastes. It was child friendly. However, it seemed to be understaffed and there were no mugs, or glasses. Nobody was around to ask, so guests were searching in the cupboards for something to use to get a drink. The machines were very temperamental and they were out of service a lot of the time. There were no black teabags on offer. Location was good, but otherwise a very disappointing stay.
