Springfontein Guesthouse

What a lovely resting place. We where greeted with friendliness and shown to our rooms. Everything was clean and fresh. Everything we needed and more. As soon as we were settled, we had a nice cup of coffee outside, quiet and with the birds singings.....so relaxing after a long drive.

Springfontein Guest House is perfectly located for a Cape Town to Johannesburg road trip, just 140 kms from Bloemfontein which makes for an easy second day of travelling. Pieter Boshoff is a welcoming and attentive host and our cottage was beautifully equipped with a lot of attention to detail, comfy beds and linen and a well equipped kitchenette for self-catering. Our dogs were happy in a fenced off garden area. Don't be put off by the state of the town. Highly recommend!

Spingfontein guesthouse is an unexpected delight. The rooms are clean and maintained. The attention to detail is obvious and the little extras were greatly appreciated. The host was a delight and I would only stay at Springfontein Guesthouse if I was ever in that area.

On a trip from Tshwane to the Eastern Cape, Springfontein is a convenient stopover point, about 60% of the way home. It is just off the N1, and hence convenient for a mostly-N-road trip home (R roads can have terrible potholes). Pieter phoned before we set out to ensure that we knew that there were no restaurants nearby, and was equally helpful once we arrived, finding a fridge for us. Everything was clean and tidy and the facilities were excellent, with good-quality bed and bathroom including linen and supplies. The TV has a cheaper satellite service than DSTV, Openview, with fewer options, but we were there to rest on a long trip, so we did not miss our usual entertainment and news options. Just two minor quibbles – a helpful list of options such as asking for a gate remote if you want to go for a walk would be good. And the curtain was not heavy enough to mask an outside light.

Stayed over 1 night on the way to Cape Town - very clean, crisp white linen, fluffy white towels & gowns. Microwave in room, aircon and the lovely owner even left rusks and the most divine bisuits. Comfortable and relaxing spot to stop and rest.

This place was excellent, the location was actually very surprising. The owner was very friendly, a nice quiet place very neat and clean i was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for making my stay pleasant i will come again for sure

Everything was to my liking, clean and comfortable, and I was well rested the next morning to continue with my trip. I will recommend this establishment with great confidence. Conveniently close to the N1.

We stayed one night at Springfontein Guesthouse and loved it. This is our new stop over when we travel from Plett which is quite a few times a year. Graeme was wonderful, the food and accommodation were fabulous and the added bonus was it is dog friendly.

This was our 2nd time at Springfontein Guest House. We will definitely go back again, because the host is friendly and courteous, the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, there is air-conditioning in the rooms and dinner is superb, served with silver cutlery. An unexpected gem in the Karoo.
