We had a fantastic time staying at this hotel. From the moment we arrived at check in to when we checked out the service was excellent. Special shout out to Jane and her team. At check in the staff were so professional and friendly throughout our stay and they handled each one of our requests exactly as we wanted no matter what time or how busy they were. The facilities were great and the standard of hygiene was top class. The food at breakfast and in the Bar and Grill was second to none. We can’t wait to visit the Fairmont again,

We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We chose it for its location of being close to family in Leuchars but primarily because it was dog friendly. We didn’t on this occasion use the golf facilities. We stayed in a room in one of the lodge buildings which was ideal as it was next to the golf course and ideal for dog walks or just letting him out supervised to do his business! The room was comfortable and clean and with all the essentials needed for a mini break. The breakfast in the hotel was very good some days buffet and some days ordered from the menu. We ate an evening meal in the hotel several days and whilst the menu choice is not extensive the food was good quality and value. With having the dog all our meals were in the bar area which was fine for us as you have lovely views over the golf course and it was very relaxed. All the staff were friendly and helpful providing a great level of service. We would definitely come back and stay again here. A good location for exploring St Andrews, Dundee, Carnoustie & many beaches on this coast

We stayed for two nights, ate at the hotel on the 2nd evening and enjoyed the food and service. Staff are very helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. We did not have the breakfast. Used the gym which was very well-provisioned. There is ample parking on site for£5/night. Would certainly return to the Apex and recommend to others

From the minute I drove in the car park, the design and style was out of this world. Every single member of the staff had a genuine presence, from something as simple as a smile! Room was very stylish, possibly a little dark but I had no issues sleeping which is a bonus. Dinner in the restaurant was great, a local beer went down a treat. Food was very well presented and freshly cooked. Couldn't fault a thing, will bring my wife for a trip sometime and stay for longer.

We got an overnight stay with dinner as a wedding gift. I am glad it was a gift and we hadn’t paid for it ourselves as I was left disappointed. The hotel is certainly tired and in need of upgrading. I’ve had nicer rooms at a premier inn. The swimming area is like a public swimming baths and also in need of a serious refurb. Dinner was ok, nothing special. We had booked for 7pm and were not finished until after 9 - very slow service even though it was not particularly busy. My husband ordered soup for starter and had to go looking for a spoon as he wasn’t given one and no waiting staff were in our area to ask for one. He then had a burger which was raw in the middle. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. We won’t be back and won’t be recommending to others.

GGuest User5* service with 5* accommodation with 5* communication with Dawid, property manager. When we arrived in St Andrews we received a call to advise that the apartment was ready and we could access it straight away. Dawid met us on arrival at the property and showed us around. Wow,wow, wow!! The apartment is stunning and spotlessly clean. The interior design is absolutely beautiful with comfortable sofas and beds. We were due to stay another night however our friend who is currently going through treatment for leukaemia took ill and we had to go home early. Dawid was very understanding and helpful and refunded the cost of the second night for us as well as allowing us extra time to vacate the property. Without any hesitation I would highly recommend these apartments and will definitely return. The apartments are spacious, so central to the shops, bars and restaurants too. Thank you Dawid for everything you did for us, we can’t thank you enough *****
LLINGHUIOn December 11, we traveled to St Andrew, and Rusacks was a perfect choice.
Our car broke down. As we couldn't get it started, we asked the staff for assistance. Mr. Ccllum who was at reception came to inspect our car, and he also called his colleagues to help. We feel so warm that they reached out to us!
Since the car was still unable to start, Mr. Ccllum assisted us to contact the car company and helpline. Under his help, the helpline came to repair the car that evening, but they still didn't figure out what caused the breakdown. Because we need to return to Edinburgh the next morning, the car company suggested that we leave the key at the reception, and they would come later to take the car. Mr. Ccllum agreed to keep the key for us. Luckily, the helpline took the car away at last, and we reached the railway station with Mr. Ccllum’s help.
The night came so fast and the weather was cold. Fortunately, we were safe due to the assistance of Mr. Ccllum and his colleagues. Many thanks for their kindness! We are so lucky to choose Rusacks!
Day trip to St Andrews with my parents and fancied a bite to eat. Well firstly I must say that all followers know that we dont mind paying good money for good food but £49.16 just for 4 fish and chips and that was before drinks. We had to wait 20mins for the food and we feel it wasn't worth the money. Yes we understand that St Andrews has a reputation for being up market and welcomes a lot of tourists and visitors (especially when the golf is on or other special occasions) but I am afraid to say that for a standard plate of fish and chips and the fact that the table was not large enough to cater for the plates for four people then this is where the Greyfriars Inn falls down. Yes my parents are elderly and my mum is a little wandered and people were staring which is very rude but not managements fault as you cannot help the clientele you have, I did try and chase up the meal as mum gets agitated if she has to wait and did not want her to cause a fuss for the sake of the pub itself. She deserves as much as anybody to eat out as do all disabled people. There did not seem to be enough staff as we were told they were very busy as had a full restaurant around the corner too. If it hadnt been for my parents being infirm and they needed to have lunch we would have left before being served. We didnt feel welcome at all and that is a very sad reflection on this establishment . Again sorry there are no photos but my parents in their 80's dont like mobile phones at the table. It was their treat. All in all not a great experience.
PPENGThe hotel is not big, the location is just across the road from the old campus of St. Andrews University, very close to the commercial street and not far from the old stadium. The breakfast can be said to be relatively rich, there are several kinds of regular meals, and special, which changes with the seasons. The restaurant is almost full on weekends when there is a lot of people, and it is usually better. On-street parking outside the door is free but there is no private parking lot. It is easy to have a place during school holidays. I don’t know at other times.
