Beautiful location, delicious food, cleandest spa I have ever seen, wonderful outdoor pool and good service from friendly staff

We live locally and this is our stomping ground. I am a member in the spa and my now husband a golf member. We also both worked at the hotel in our younger years, so it has always had a special place in our hearts. So where better to get married?! We had the most perfect day. From the build up, the actual day and afterwards, everything was absolutely impeccable. The staff are so attentive. The views are outstanding and the hotel vibe exuberates luxury. The flowers around the hotel are absolutely beautiful. We have still not come down from cloud nine, but wanted to recommend this hotel extremely highly. We feel so lucky to have this place on our doorstep. Thank you of being everything we dreamed of and more.

We had a weekend for my daughter's wedding. Based on the weather, location, and service provided by Carlyon Bay, it was more than we expected. The staff was very professional and polite, and the food was excellent. I recommend this place if you want a magical and memorable wedding or any other event. Carlyon Bay Hotel is the place. All our guests had a great time. Thank you for making our daughter's wedding so special.

Brilliant overall stay. Stayed for 3 night, the room had a fantastic sea view and breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel, food, staff, and golf was incredible. The location was also incredible, but we went during the heatwave and there is no air conditioning in the room we stayed in so struggled to get much sleep. Everything else was amazing.

The staff, the quality of the food, the location and the facilities all make this a wonderful, relaxing break. We come back time and time again.

At every turn the staff are friendly, welcoming and respectful. Dining room staff trained extremely well and it shows. Very comfortable room. Menu choices are excellent. Breakfast buffet is very good with freshly cooked eggs and plenty of choice.

The hotel is in a great location on the coast and we drove 220 miles to stay for four nights. This was the last week in June 2024 and the weather was very hot. We had waited for the warm weather forecast before we booked and saw that there were few rooms available. We wanted a deluxe double room but had to settle for a superior double room as that was the best available when we booked. Sadly the room we were allocated was below what we consider as superior. Firstly, it's window faced west or southwest and had the sun all afternoon and early evening. No fault of the hotel there. However, it was also situated immediately above the very warm spa so it was permanently hot. There was a portable air conditioner in there that was so noisy we had to turn up the TV loud if we wanted to listen, and for sleeping it had to be turned off. We tried opening the windows and closing the curtains when the sun wasn't shining but it was impossible to get a low enough temperature for sleeping overnight. We didn't sleep for two nights until we requested a different room. The temperature shown on the air conditioner was 25 C both nights. On day three we were moved to another superior double room but were only given a bottle of wine at dinner as compensation for having to stay in room 139 for two nights. It spoiled our break but if we decide to visit again we know what rooms to avoid as we figured out all of those above the spa. The second room we stayed in was so much better and was a newly decorated one on the other side of the hotel. It couldn't have been more different from the first room. The food at breakfast and dinner was vexcellent and we enjoyed the dining experience each day. The chairs were padded and comfortable armchairs and the table service was very good. Their chef is an expert at cooking fish. The lounge and drawing rooms had comfortable easy chairs and sofas and were great places to sit and read or have a drink or snack. We chose Cream tea day to have our first ever Cornish cream tea. Delicious! There were well stocked bars in both of those rooms but we noticed some inexperience among the bar staff. At the top of the bar cocktails list they have their own martini. I asked for it with olives and can confirm that when using olives in a martini they must start off in brine never oil and shouldn't have black herby bits in with them. A brownish martini with oil and black bits floating in it iis a poor effort.

My son amd daughter in law just had their wedding here this weekend and I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for us. We had visited a few times prior to get a feel for the place and sample the food etc. It has never disappointed us. Holly Balanici went above and beyond for us and the porters, waitresses, bar staff, managers etc were exceptional! Everyone went over and above for all of us. The day went just as I had envisioned with the constant support and help from Holly. The food is devine and they are complete experts at what they do. The rooms were superb. All the guests are still raving about the wedding and the Hotel. Amazing location and just the nicest, warmest feel to it. We were treated so well on each visit but the team excelled for our special occasion. They all went above and beyond expectations. We cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding of their dreams, it was truly magical and will highly recommend you to everyone.
