An excellent bed and breakfast venue. The staff could not do more for you. The hotel is very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was as much free tea and coffee in the bedrooms as u wanted. There was a kitchen on the landing u could use the iron there and put fresh milk in the fridge, make a small snack. Breakfast was very good. Good quality ingredients. Excellent service. My daughter is gluten free and the staff were so helpful and had four cereals maybe more to choose from gluten free bread and sausages. The breakfast was better than any hotel for our daughter. This is a brilliant place stay if u are going to a function at the South Causey Inn, it is literally a six minute walk from the South Causy Inn, it was perfect I would highly recommend the Ball Alley excellent value for money really friendly helpful staff/ owner. WiFi was good.

Excellent B&B above lovely welcoming pub, nothing too much trouble for the owners , fab breakfast plenty to eat and drink , beds so comfy and lovely sized rooms, would def recommend. Just a short taxi ride to nearest pub that serves food. No noise from the pub can be heard in the bedrooms.

We stayed to attend a wedding at the south Causey. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable bed and all amenities you would need. Staff really friendly and breakfast delicious. 5 min walk to the south Causey made this an ideal affordable option to enjoy a drink at the wedding, would definitely book again!

We booked to stay at the Ball Alley in Stanley for eight nights to visit Newcastle, Numberland and Durham. First on arriving we rang Lindsay who came down to meet us and let us in to our double en-suite room No 3 and also told us we could use the kitchen if we wanted to buy takeaways and also we could use the washing machine and tumble dryer as well. Our room was very clean and we felt very comfortable in it. We ordered a chineese to be delivered and used the kitchen table plates and cutlery and done the washing up before going back gto our room. Going down for breakfast at 08.30 we met Michael who serviced us our cooked full english breakfast orange juice tea coffee and toast. The cooked breakfast was amazing consisting of two sausages two bacon rashers black pudding mushrooms and fried egg or any combination of any of these. We chose the Ball Alley for its location and reading other reviews and we were not dissappointed in any way that we had. We had the best service by friendly owners and staff and have no hesitation in recommending the Ball Alley Pub B&B to anyone visiting this area of Stanley you won't be dissappointed if you do. Thanks John & Sue Norfolk
