I recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful homestay in the 杨柳青 area of Tianjin, and I can't recommend it highly enough. As a stressed entrepreneur and doctor traveling from Shanghai, this trip was a much-needed break for me, and the homestay exceeded all my expectations.

If you check my other reviews, you'll see that I often travel by train to various cities from Shanghai and stay at different places. Out of all the places I've stayed, this homestay in Tianjin stands out as one of the best. I am confident that I will return here in the future whenever I need a peaceful retreat.

GGuest UserIf you have an early flight this is a good hotel to stay at as it’s only 15 minutes from the airport. The room was clean and the staff very friendly.
My only problem was they had smoking rooms/floors and even though we had a non-smoking room there were some guests who still smoked in the stairwells. This is not the hotel’s fault but should be mentioned in case one cannot stand the smell of smoke.
There is not much for food around the area but for a 5-10 minute taxi ride you can get to an area with more options including some western options if you desire that type.

**Service:** The service was exceptional. The front desk staff, especially one young man, was incredibly kind. I was there for an exam, and when he found out, he complimentary offered me breakfast, a box of fruit, a late check-out until 2 PM, and even upgraded my room. Later, due to equipment issues in my room, I had to move around, and they upgraded my room again – two upgrades in total! When I finally checked out, they even gave me a gift box as an apology.
**Room:** Clean and tidy. As it's a newly opened hotel, everything was spotless. The soundproofing was also good, or perhaps it was just quiet because there weren't many guests, so I slept very well. The underfloor heating was fantastic; I even slept with the window open and still felt a bit warm.
**Hotel Facilities:** Breakfast was plentiful. The gym had treadmills and bikes, but no strength training equipment.
**Location:** It's about a ten-minute walk from the subway station. There's a park nearby. Since I was there for an exam, its proximity to the test center (only 400m away) was very convenient.
**Suggestions:** The shower pressure in the bathroom wasn't very strong, and the water took a while to heat up. It didn't bother me too much personally, but I hope the hotel can address this.
I've never written such a detailed hotel review before, but this place genuinely left a fantastic first impression of Tianjin.

AAnonymous UserBased on my recent stay, I have mixed feedback to share regarding the hotel experience.
1. Cleanliness & Housekeeping:
Cleanliness was satisfactory only on the first day of our stay. Unfortunately, the daily cleaning service afterward fell short of expectations. The room tidying felt rushed, and certain areas—most notably the toilet—were not properly cleaned or sanitized.
2. Room Size & Layout:
We booked a Deluxe King Room expecting spacious comfort. However, the actual room felt quite cramped and did not match the description or the standard of a ”deluxe” category. The layout made movement inconvenient, and overall it lacked the sense of space we anticipated.
3. Breakfast Variety & Quality:
We tried the hotel breakfast on the first morning but decided not to include it for the rest of our stay. The selection was very limited, and both the quality and variety of food were disappointing. It did not provide good value, especially for the price charged.
Overall, while the initial impression was acceptable, the consistency in service and amenities did not meet the standards expected from a hotel of this rating. I hope this feedback helps the management make improvements for future guests.

DDzungThe hotel has send off service to the hotel. There is also a convenient store and several restaurants nearby. However, the staff I met on the day I left the hotel was not helpful. I am not Chinese and had no Chinese phone number but i needed to send some samples to my Chinese provider by delivery express. I had to take an early flight so i was really in hurry to get on the bus so i asked her for help. But she denied to help me which made me really shocked because other hotels were really willing to help me send or book the delivery service like this before. It is very easy for Chinese people to do that. I had no other choice but throwing the samples away because i had to fly back to my country and i could not take it along with me. It is a pity for me when i could not send the sample to the factory. I will not be back to this hotel again.

MM516889****Advantages: Good location; free parking available downstairs and along a 200-meter-long alley; comfortable bed and pillows; shower with a head, 24-hour hot water with a good flow; bottled water can be refilled by contacting the front desk.
Disadvantages:
1. Parking is difficult during the day; several shops and banks downstairs park here, and there were no staff present during the day.
2. The triple room has a window, but it faces the courtyard, making the room very poorly ventilated, almost like having no window or an inner window; there's a pungent smell upon entering.
3. Smoking is allowed in the hotel rooms, and the corridor's design and decor resemble a converted KTV.
4. Breakfast was terrible; the selection was limited, with no basic fried rice or orange juice; the steamed buns were only the size of glutinous rice balls, and the fried pancakes were powdery and unappetizing. The fruit selection was poor; the freshly cut watermelon looked like it had been gnawed in half.
5. The front desk charges a 100 RMB deposit upon check-in, which many other hotels don't; the front desk staff were never smiling or using polite service language during the two days I visited.
6. The paper cups for drinks at the front desk were subpar. It's only about one-sixth the size of a regular steamed bun, which is a good match for the small breakfast buns.
In short, choose according to your needs! It's not a terrible review, but it's not a five-star rating either! Hopefully, the restaurant will continue to strive to provide a better experience and service for tourists visiting the seaside!

MM814502****This stay was absolutely fantastic! The room was spacious and bright, and the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable – I had a thoroughly refreshing night's sleep. The cleanliness was top-notch; every nook and cranny was spotless. The front desk staff, especially the lady who helped me, was warm, attentive, and answered all my questions. The hotel's location is also super convenient, making it really easy to go out and explore for food and shopping. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!

GGuest UserService: Excellent. The owner and staff were very attentive and welcoming. Free breakfast was provided, and the paid food was reasonably priced. The Jiangxi stir-fry was delicious and reasonably priced.
Environment: Okay. The lobby is quite spacious, and the building's paint color is refreshing.
Facilities: So-so. The room soundproofing was a bit poor, but thankfully the neighbors weren't noisy. Hair dryers aren't available in every room; you have to borrow one from the front desk. Bathroom drainage was average, rather slow.
Cleanliness: The bed in the room was clean enough, and the bedding smelled okay. The bathroom was less clean. The area under the bed was particularly dirty, with a lot of clutter left behind (I usually never check under the bed, but I thought I'd lost my keys and searched for a long time 😥).

MM738652****First off, the price. We booked early, and it was only 180 RMB for two nights, which is an excellent deal! 👍
1. Stepping into the hotel, the lobby felt bright and very clean. We booked a deluxe twin room, as we wanted to sleep comfortably during our Tianjin trip. The front desk arranged a room for us far from the elevator (only realized upon entering the room that we'd been upgraded to a high-floor twin room).
2. Regarding the elevators: from other reviews, it seems this hotel, though renovated, is a bit older. However, the elevators were exceptionally neat and clean, likely recently replaced, and meticulously maintained. That's a plus.
3. The hotel is on a high floor, so we couldn't hear any car horns from below; it was very quiet. We stayed on the eighth floor; the hallway was spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows at the end.
4. Then, entering the room: it was very spacious. To the left was a wooden wardrobe, and to the right, a bathroom with a shower, featuring a dry and wet separation. There was a window on each side, with a large connected glass panel in the middle offering an excellent view. First off, the beds were very clean, which is great. Honestly, one single bed could easily fit two people, and the beds could be moved (this is very convenient for couples or those with children). Both the room and the bathroom had heating, so it was warm even without turning on the air conditioning.
5. The service was quite good.
6. The location is excellent: 20 minutes by subway to Tianjin West Station, 15 minutes to Tianjin Station, and only 20-30 minutes to the Italian Style Street, Porcelain House, and Tianjin Eye.
Now, for areas that could be improved:
1. The shower water in the morning wasn't very hot, but it was very hot during the day and evening (I suggest they improve this).
2. The room lighting was a bit dim. I'm not sure if it's due to the warm yellow tone, but we found a solution: turning on the TV made the room brighter (maybe the light bulbs in the room could be replaced).
3. The TV couldn't cast content (but for a price of around 90 RMB, it's understandable).
Overall, I'd give it a 90 out of 100. The price point is unbeatable, and everything else was great. My partner and I think we'd stay here again on our next visit.
