Hotel Sokak

We had other accommodation booked that was cancelled on the day so this was a very last minute booking. We arrived late at night and we're given a room on the top floor. The room was spacious and the bathroom neat enough with the usual issue of ho where to put things in the shower, however there seemed to be a lot of dust/wood bits dropping on the bed from the roof beams and the floor very squeaky. The carpet looks like the original even though other elements of the room have been updated. The main issue was that there were no curtains/blinds????? There was a sky light and a side window which only had a mesh cover, how could they think this was ever ok for a hotel room. After our late arrival we were woken at 5am due to light. We asked to change rooms the next morning and were initially put in a smaller room with double bed against the wall, but it had no aircon. And was very warm and stuffy. We asked for a fan at least as this room had curtains, instead they moved us to a third room which had aircon but again, only one window had a curtain that was more than gauze. We gave up at this point and used the bed cover to cover the window. Also this hotel doesn't do breakfast but apparently have a deal with a nearby hotel for €12 (expensive in these parts). The staff were lovely but this place needs to get the basics right.

Had an excellent 4 night stay. My room was very comfortable and cleaned every day. The bathroom and shower looked to be quite new. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, even getting up at 4am to ensure I caught my early taxi to the airport. I can't thank them enough, and would recommend anyone visiting Sarajevo to stay here. The hotel is in a perfect position, right next to the old town.
