We've just returned from a four-night stay here and loved it! The staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. We paid extra for the breakfast, which turned out to be a very good decision. There was a lovely selection each morning, and it was a great way to start the day. Returning during the afternoon also meant we could sit and enjoy a coffee, piece of fruit, or tasty biscuit. We would definitely return here the next time we're in Sarajevo. If you're looking to book a tour, then we'd recommend Meet Bosnia. Their office is an easy 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Hotel Berr is just an exceptional hotel in the heart of Old Town Sarajevo! I really enjoyed my stay here. Location couldn't be better - the hotel is a stone's throw from Pigeon Square (maybe 100 metres at most) and about a 10 minute walk to all of the main attractions in Sarajevo - City Hall, the various mosques scattered throughout the city and the main artery of Old Town (the pedestrian area). There are restaurants, shops, money exchange bureaus (watch out for those with high commission!), cafes and souvenir shops as far as the eye can see. There is no lack to choose from. There is also a medium sized supermarket on the corner across from Pigeon Square, open early and stays open quite late. The yellow fortress is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the white fortress is approximately 20-30 minutes uphill on foot. Note that the white fortress is closed indefinitely for restoration but the views of the city from the top of the hill is well worth the walk! The hotel owns 3 buildings - the result of expansion and buy up of other hotels over the years. So your room will be in one of the building adjacent to the main reception areas or it will be in the primary building. This was not at all an issue, but just so guests are aware of it! Note also that there is no lift/elevator in any of the buildings and the stairwells are rather narrow. I travel with only a small backpack, so for me, it wasn't even a concern, but for guests with large/heavy luggage or with mobility issues, be aware that you will need to climb the narrow stairs. Some of the rooms are in an almost ”attic” which might be a problem for some guests. The room was spacious and very clean! Although I was in a single room, there were two twin beds in my room. I believe all rooms have the same setup, regardless of how many guests you are staying in the room. The room was equipped with a desk, a small coffee table, two chairs, a large cabinet to store your luggage and a little electric kettle for boiling water (though no tea or coffee were provided in the room, I would nab instant coffee packets from the breakfast buffet to use the next morning). There were two mugs, a glass water bottle and two glasses. There was no air conditioning in the room, but there was a small fan which was sufficient for my needs. There was a flatscreen tv also in the room with approximately 30 channels available. Mostly local channels, however I was able to find about 5 in English. Some rooms have a mini refrigerator, but mine did not. It would have been a nice perk, but I managed without. The bathroom was very large and ample towels were provided (2 hand towels, 2 massive fluffy bath towels and a bath/floor mat). The bathroom had a large dispenser of hand soap as well as a dispenser of ”shampoo” (it was exactly the same as the hand soap), but I used it on my hair and I didn't have any issues with residue. There are very few reviews, just because it is close to the old city and can park a car, I booked it blindly. I couldn't find it on the navigation system, and it was difficult to park on the hilly road. I came down to find someone and walked around for a long time before I found the house number. The iron door was tightly closed. After ringing the doorbell for a long time, a father and son came out and confirmed the order with us in a daze. , and at the same time kept telling us ”no problem, no problem”, and then picked up our car and parked it in the garage in his yard. In fact, the navigation guide is at the back door of his house. It is very convenient to go out to the old city from the back door. The smiles and enthusiasm of the father and son calmed our anxiety. We settled down with peace of mind and used the kitchen they provided to cook Chinese food. We were quite satisfied.

The hotel is very new and renovated! The front desk lady is very warm and the location is good. Going down is the pedestrian street! There is a local restaurant on the pedestrian street. The mutton is very good. It tastes exactly like the Chinese restaurant. There is also a cake shop. It is also very delicious. When we left, the aunt at the front desk helped us call the car. After calling the car, we were still waiting for the car at the door. The service was great and gave full marks.

A great little hotel. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A major big point is the fact the breakfast were incredible. So much choice, and for me I ate so much I didn't need any lunch. Breakfast was simply amazing. The hotel is situated on a hill so with lugguge I recommend a taxi if traveling from the tram stop. However overall amazing stay

The hotel is very conspicuous, with a yellow exterior that can be seen from a distance. Although the decoration is old, it is well maintained and you can see its former glory. The service is five-star, and the buffet breakfast has a wide variety of options to meet the needs of different tastes. The room is also very large, with a space dedicated to large suitcases.

The hotel is located in Lukavica just a little outside of Sarajevo. With the taxi from the city center it costs about 5-6 Euro, from hotel to city center it is about 4 Euro (is located at the different taxi prices in RS and FBH). Wi-Fi available and good, rooms clean, even though there was only a broken toilet brush with me. Beds ok, TV with many programmes (also international). Heating has worked very well, unfortunately too warm and without closing. Reception friendly and fast (in the 1st floor). 24h occupied reception. Minibar also in the 1st floor. Rooms prices are ok and appropriate. Breakfast is rich, but here is a considerable potency for dessert. You can let it pass, but in fact not. Bosnians are good hosts, why don't they show it at breakfast in this hotel? A sort of cheapest white bread, although this country can make such great bread, egg food has been there for 2 hours and are like rubber (at the number of guests that were there, you could have been preparing it freshly), The two ladies sitting on a table, referring to the rubber-like eggs, denied the demand for a omlet as an impossible challenge. The question of black tea (which is very common in Bosnia) was dealt with with the notice that there would be 10 tea varieties available. (It is true that there were more than 10 varieties of fruit tea and black tea with chimt, but no normal black tea).... etc. all wasn't dramatic, but couldn't be what it could be. Since the hotel is quite far outside and can certainly also need more customers, you might need to consider how to get a positive relief. After I was looked at ”special wishes” twice in fact only incredulous, I gave up... but it happens sometimes wonders. I hope it for the hotel, because it still has potential.

The room was huge - but my evening meal was amongst the worst I’ve had in a hotel. Service was very slow - and the burger I received was inedible. I did complain - but rather than react to my complaint - it took ages to be able to pay my billl. I would not eat here again.
