Was really looking forward to a nice, kid free getaway to Staunton for the weekend, but a family emergency prevented that from being able to happen right before we were supposed to check-in. I called Jeff to ask if we could push the reservation back a few weeks instead of completely cancelling the trip and utilizing their "Cancellation Policy." I was told it was absolutely not an option. Maybe it is my fault for assuming that the "Cancellation Policy" was going to be a fee that was only a portion of the booking, because a dollar amount is not mentioned anywhere on their website or on my booking confirmation (normally it would be a night of the stay or something like that). Word of advice to Jeff and Sharon, if you're going to OFFER a "Cancellation Fee," you may want to state that it is the entire price of your stay...or completely eliminate it because I do not see the point of having one if it is not a "fee," but just paying for the whole thing. Really bummed, the place looked cool and we definitely would rather be there than where we have to go last minute...but we sadly will NOT be finding out in the future.
