Forsthof

I came across it by chance while looking around the Mercedes Benz Museum and looking for a hotel with free parking and 3 adults, but it exceeded my personal expectations. I was worried that it would be a bit dark since it was about a 2-minute drive from the road and most of the surrounding areas were grape growing areas, but the actual hotel was like a village community center where major local events and various performances were held, so there were a lot of people there. There was a terrace and various tables in the room, so it was comfortable to stay in, and the breakfast was well prepared, so I was very satisfied.

Booked a suite. The room was big but strangely the TV was quite small and the bedside lamps were unplugged. There were also bulbs of different strengths, 46 and 112 watts (no joke). The room was in an annex (villa) which is not very soundproof and you need an umbrella when it rains. Everything in the hallway is transmitted quite loudly into the rooms. The bathroom was quite new and really good. If you need dinner, you can't get it there from Monday to Wednesday and since the Forsthof is on its own, you have to drive to the next town. For wine lovers, the Forsthof is also a winery.

The hotel was great, the room was unfortunately very warm, no air conditioning and if you opened it tighter the mosquitoes came 😅

I booked this hotel because of the location for a business trip. Everything looked very nice and modern in the pictures. But when I arrived I was proven wrong. Check-in went well and the lady was very friendly. But then it started. The lady said we could order a beer in the restaurant while she wrote the bill. But that didn't work. The staff in the restaurant said it was already closed. At 8.15pm on a Sunday.... OK. Then we went to the room without a beer. Here was the next surprise. The room had nothing to do with the pictures shown on the internet. Old room furnishings in solid oak with a bed and a wardrobe. The bathroom wasn't all that modern and the water pressure in the shower was rather low. What pleased me, or at least I thought, was the balcony. So I went out and had a look. But the balcony was for all the rooms on the floor and you could look straight into every room. I don't think that's good at all. So I closed the curtains completely for sleeping so that my neighbor couldn't see me sleeping. Breakfast was another positive surprise. Good selection and very tasty. The hotel is very remote. 2 farms and the hotel. That's all there is. Unfortunately there is no cell reception either. So you have to make do with the WiFi, which is just about enough for surfing. Watching films or videos is almost impossible.

This was my second time there. The first time: no hot water: cold shower! The second time: elevator broken! Bad luck! The room was on the 3rd floor. It was a hot day: 32 degrees but the room was even hotter: no ventilation during the day. What a pity! The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant is only open from Thursday to Sunday. What a pity for the hotel guests!
