If you are keen to fill your lungs with the freshest of air - get out and about and explore with a countryside walk - a swing in the trees at Go-Ape or hire a bike and get off-road. Whatever the weather throws at you we have got the perfect spot to enjoy it. In the sunshine our terrace is the only place to be with an indulgent Afternoon Tea. Should the weather be less favourable there is no cosier place than in front of a crackling open fire in the lounge.

Very bad reception at that of Aberfoyle!!!
-Reception: After driving several hours to get to the hotel we only wanted to eat and relax.
We arrive to check in and the receptionist Emilia tells us 5 minutes I'll be there! (no hello, please or other polite wording!) She arrives after 15 minutes!!!!!! without apologizing and speaks to us very curtly (we realize that she is not happy at all) we ask her for breakfast hours, she answers us uh, first I must have your visa card. (still in a really not cool tone at all). she checks us in by slamming the keys and our cards roughly on the counter,
-Restaurant: The waiters were not friendly either, no hello, the meal was really of poor quality, I find that so shameful for a normally 4* hotel!!! During our stay, we visited several hotels and b&bs and I assure you that we were received simply but so warmly and the quality of the products was excellent. What a contrast! We who are so delighted to come to this hotel given the amenities and the setting; I will definitely not come back there again and I will not recommend it!
-Breakfast: The next day when you woke up, another great disappointment, how can I tell you that it was empty.
Personally I find that what best defines this hotel is the appearance. At first glance it's very pretty, the setting is green, the interior is very elegant. The rooms are spacious but that's it.
-The hygiene of the room was fair.

The hotel is disgusting. We were planned to stay there for 4 nights from Aug 22 but finally we stayed 1 night then moved to another hotel.
There are no reception service to check in, we were waited for 30 mins and end up 1 staff came to argue with us to say we just waited for 10 mins.
No lift, need to carry the luggage ourselves.
No heater for cold weather. Think about if in winter there are no heater, you will be freezing in the room and no one will coming to help you.
The waiter drop the food up of my clothes when serving. No apologies AT ALL.
Can’t request what’s the food you going to have. It’s all based on the waiters recommendations.
No wifi service until we paid 10 pound to the young boy in restaurant to help to set up for us.
The room had insects.
Facilities broken.
Door without lock etc…

Just spent a night at the hotel, Food was excellent staff helpful and friendly, hotel is immaculately kept. an ideal choice if you want a peaceful and tranquil break. A good base for exploring towns like callander and stirling and surrounding areas.

Firstly, the location of this hotel is truly stunning. I was a little worried when we arrived as the lady on reception was rather curt and told us we were extremely early when we arrived an hour and a half before check-in at 3 and asked if we could have a drink in the bar. When you've spent hundreds of pounds to stay at a hotel, a little smile or even a hello would have been a nice gesture but hey ho. However, the customer service was quickly redeemed by the food and beverage staff, both in the lounge and restaurant and in the Rafters Bar. We caught the names of Stuart and Ruwanthan as we wanted to specially mention their top service. We ate in the Rafters twice which was 10/10, our breakfast each morning was lovely (I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews as we must have been served a different breakfast!), we had a beautiful afternoon tea with prosecco and finally a meal at the Garden Restaurant of fish and chips. We were more than happy with our room, but we are not the type of people who go looking for problems or complaints. My partner booked me a massage which was also 10/10 and the staff were really helpful. The only issue we came across was that we weren’t able to get room service even though there was an in-room menu – but we figured this was due to short staffing and moved on with our lives. All in all a lovely, lovely weekend and would be more than happy to return in future.

Absolutely beautiful place in the heart of aberfoyle great scenery second to none stayed an overnight as wee have a caravan at the trossachs dinner bed breakfast cant fault it beautiful and spa of course beautiful so relaxing love it every time we have been back staff very courteous massage was marvellous shout out to Helena Rant and her staff also their products are good quality well worth the money. Also returned on the 25th on our 30th wedding anniversary for afternoon tea was delish and made to feel very welcome and lovely inscription of our anniversary with nice cakes they certainly value their customers xx

Large spacious room that was extremely comfortable and very clean. Food in the Garden Restaurant is excellent. We so enjoyed the delicious food, great service and lovely views. The head waiter works really hard and has a lovely manner. We had a great stay and will be returning soon.

We stayed in one of the apartments by the tennis courts. Wonderful views across the loch, but that's where it ended. The room were tired. Old, worn, uncoordinated, uncomfortable furniture. Grubby carpets throughout and we even found old dog biscuits behind the TV unit mixed in with human hair and general fluff. Black mould in both bathrooms. Kitchen cabinet doors barely attached. And the list goes on. The food in the restaurant was basic at best and definitely not worth the money. Management clearly has no clue what running and maintaining a hotel is all about. A shame really because the location was great and most of the staff seemed to be doing their best. We will not be returning.
