Nice rooms and a very good breakfast! The staff was really nice. Also, a nice gym but the spa facilities were disappointing. Mainly because the saunas did not open until 12. You could have opened this from at least 10 am as the pool was filled with kids in the morning. Furthermore, because of the many pool toys, kids were playing everywhere in the pool area. So no place for relaxation. The pool area was quite cold and you did not want to lay on the sunbeds. A new acoustical ceiling would be good in the pool area.

I was not planning on staying at a hotel near Hamburg airport but because of a flight disruption I made a last-minute reservation at Courtyard. I was pleasantly surprised by the room which I found to be quite nice for airport hotel standards, or for any Courtyard for that matter. The hotel is only 1km from the airport and there is a pedestrian path which makes it somewhat walkable if luggage is not too heavy; the lone challenge is that there is a small hill to climb as the path passes above another road. The hotel has a shuttle bus available every 30 minutes however it’s only available mornings and evenings, not between 12pm and 6pm. I showed up at the hotel barely 15 minutes after booking and I was already proactively upgraded to a suite as Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite guest. The room looked great for Courtyard brand standards and I would have almost nothing negative to note except perhaps that air conditioning was disconnected for the winter, but the room was hot so we had to open the window to get some fresh air. To open such window, interestingly there were two windows so soundproofing (when closed) was hard to beat. I wish more airport hotels had such high quality windows. I am not a regular at Courtyard hotels but the very few where I stayed were cumbersome in their management of the Marriott breakfast or food credit benefit for guests Platinum and above, and this one hotel was no exception. I asked to receive the 10 EUR food & beverage benefit per person per day instead of welcome points. Perhaps this is standard at all CYs, but when I asked if I could combine the credit for both nights into an order made on a single day, the answer was no, the credit is only per day and cannot be carried over to another night. On the last day I did not really plan on ordering anything so I went to the bar for a drink but it was closed in the afternoon and would only open at 5pm. The receptionist told me that I could use the credit for wine or beer from the pantry near reception so that was my choice. However the next morning upon departure they did not apply the credit because they said the pantry was not eligible to the credit (unlike what I was told). After discussion they removed the charge, but all in all it was a lot of hassle for the management of this credit compared to hotels that simply provide free breakfast, period. In theory there are many situations where I prefer a credit because I might not want hotel breakfast so I am not opposed to the concept, but the execution seems to be lacking. In any event, the one time that I ordered room service, food quality was excellent. Overall the hotel was quite nice for a Courtyard near an airport and I can recommend it for a short stay between flights. There is not a lot of competition from large hotel chains near HAM airport, I saw a Radisson but that’s pretty much it, so upon returning to HAM I would book a room at CY again without second thoughts.

I have never been treated worse. I was checked in to my room and half an hour later the receptionist realised I was Swedish. Just because I'm Swedish doesn't mean I'm the grim reaper. I had quarantined for 14 days before travelling through Germany on my way back to England, but that didn't seem to matter. I was told I had to leave or they would call the police. Kind of ironic as the receptionist had checked me in and I had already put all my belongings in my room, I had used the bathroom and the fridge. He then told me I had to leave. It was 10pm, I had nowhere to go and as a single woman it seems pretty irresponsible to tell me I had to find somewhere to sleep in my car or he would call the police and I would sleep in a cell. I had checked both governments' websites prior to my journey and they both said that any EU national was allowed to travel back to where they lived. I had to find a forest outside Hamburg where I could stay in my car until I was awake enough to move on. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. I drove from 4.30am until 3pm when I reached Gent (I had to stop and have naps on the way as I had got no sleep) and checked in to the most wonderful place where there was no threats of calling the police. I am shocked that a EU citizen should be treated this way.

We did one night stop on our way from Berlin to Billund, the hotel is far from the city center but that´s not our goal this time so the location was good for us. The room was clean and a note was left on the bedtable saying ”Welcome enjoy your stay” which was nice. Breakfast was crowded ( in elevators you can find rush hours of breakfast ) and the staff barely had control at some point. Breakfast had good variations for all of us. The parking lot was located in the basement and you could walk straight from there into an elevator. All in all, clean hotel with great staff and fine locationif you are not planning on spending alot of time in city center.

I was from 28.07.22 - 29.07.22 in the beautiful Intercityhotel Hamburg-Barmbek. We were welcomed by a quite young receptionist. She was very professional and especially friendly. You already felt right well. The wish in the 3. The floor was filled with a beautiful view. The beautifully furnished room has a pleasant size ( we had noticed the cheapest category). The bed was very comfortable and let us have beautiful dreams. There is even Sky Sport/Bundesliga for which men may be interested. Also a minibar with a free water bottle has jumped into our eyes. Very worth praising! Also there was a great rain shower! The only manko was the air conditioning, which was already set at -1 degree Celsius at the arrival. But it was then possible to adjust it individually. What we also felt positive is that there is a free ÖPNV ticket for each hotel guest including. This was very good because we went to Musical ,”Wicked” in the evening and we could conveniently drive to the stage theater new Flora. To the train station you need only a maximum of 2 minutes from the hotel. Generally, this is a very good central hotel. Let's come to the only critical points, and to breakfast, which is currently offered for €17 per person. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed at that point. Most because we paid together at first €51 for it. The breads were very hard. The spoon was dry and the stick appeared not to be made by itself. For this price it was not good at all. This was notified at the reception below and the criticism was also taken very seriously. The woman was also a young receptionist and also very friendly. After our question how to stay here now, we were friendlyly refunded a breakfast and the parking ticket. You can't really make meckers at the service. Die Lage des Hotels in Norderstedt ist sowohl was Ruhe wie auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten anbelangt recht gut. Am Rande des kleinen Moorbek-Parkes (mit Wanderwegen) gelegen bietet die Umgebung die nötige Ruhe, nach vorne heraus gibt es nahebei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch kostenfreie Parkplätze. Flugzeuglärm vom etwa 5 Kilometer entfernt befindlichen Hamburger Flughafen Fuhlsbüttel hört man so gut wie nicht. Nur bei sehr ungünstiger Windlage ist in weiter weiter ferne ein leichtes Motorensummen zu hören (bei geöffnetem Fenster). Vom Hotel in die Hamburger Innenstadt, z.B. zur Elbphilharmonie sind es immerhin eine Stunde Fahrzeit mit U- und S-Bahn. Wir hatten das Doppelzimmer 124 zugeteilt bekommen, ein recht gut und funktionell ausgestattetes Zimmer mit Blick auf den hinteren Park. Das Zimmer war ausgestattet mit guten Betten, in denen wir erholsam geschlafen haben. Zudem gab es im Raum eine lange Schreibtisch-Kombination, einen guten Flachbild-Fernseher, Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank, kostenlosen Safe, Kofferablage und einen Schrank. Recht positiv empfanden wir die Fußbodenbeleuchtung unter dem Nachttisch, die mit einem Bewegungsmelder ausgestattet war und nachts den Weg zur Toilette nicht zur Stolperfalle werden ließ. Das Zimmer nebst zugehörigem Badezimmer (mit begehbarer Dusche und ”Regenwalddusche”) waren sauber und schienen neuwertig ausgestattet. Beim Frühstück herrschte eine zwanglose nette Atmosphäre. Die Auswahl am Frühstücks-Buffett war echt gut. Es gab u.a. Brot, frische Brötchen, Salate, Säfte, Käse, Wurst, Rührei, gekochte Eier, Marmeladen, uam. Kaffee stand in Warmhaltekannen bereit. Soweit ich weiß bietet das Hotel außer einer Hotelbar und kostenfreiem Wlan keine gesonderten Freizeitangebote an. Vom Hotel aus sind aber bequem mit ÖPNV die Hamburger Innenstadt zu erreichen. Die U-Bahnstation ist rund 400 Meter entfernt (durch den Park ist es noch etwas kürzer). Nahebei befinden sich Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Parkplätze. Tipp: Während der Tiefgaragen-Parkplatz beim Hotel pro Tag 9 Euro kostet, parkt man in nahen Seitenstraßen kostenlos, an Sonn- und Feiertagen auch ganz nahebei gegenüber der Edeka. Unter der Woche braucht man dort eine Parkscheibe.

I stayed here for 4 nights, in a room on my own. The room was fine for me, but would be very small for 2 people. It was clean as was the bathroom, with good quality towels. Body wash/shampoo is provided, but no shower caps or hair conditioner. Breakfast was good the one day I had it, but very expensive in my opinion. I had requested a top sheet and blanket for my bed when I booked, I was not informed that no blankets were available. Luckily I was able to borrow some from a relative who lives nearby. The operate a system whereby if you put a sign outside on your door, they then merely empty the bins and change any towels you leave on the floor. For doing this you receive a voucher for a free drink at the bar - the bar is just inside the door at the reception area and while it has quite a good range of drinks it is not a very comfortable area.

We stayed here for 5 days for a family visit. The hotel surprised us in a good way. Everything was clean efficient and pleasant. The location was also ideal for us (5min to the subway/tube station). Modern building, nice breakfast buffets - nice bathroom, and quiet room. Couldn't ask for more. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem. I think it also presented good value for money.

This is one of the better hotels I've ever stayed: modern and tidy room, well equipped fitness, excellent wellness area (2 saunas and 1 steam bath) and very good food. It's located in an industrial neighbourhood, but it's quiet at night and easy to reach the highway.

We are a family of 4 and used the hotel on route. It is well located near the road. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have good facilities. We have also liked the breakfast. We had a very good stay overall.
