The Queens Head

Pleasantly surprising accommodation. Although the room was small & basic there were some nice touches. Supplied in the room were tea & coffee facilities, 2x bottles of water, hairdryer, iron, spare electric heater and toiletries. The room was clean and the shower was lovely hot water.

The hotel is inside a small pub with few rooms, not far from Shakespeare's birthplace and some restaurants around here!

Very much a pub with rooms to rent. Pub is ok, just a typical pub. Does food, menu not inspiring but the food coming out looked ok. Location is good being right in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. The room (7) we stayed in was not great. Very dated and not very clean although the bed linen appeared to be clean. The bed was adequate at best with the mattress being rather soft - but that is a personal choice I concur. However the shower room was grim with black mould evident in various places. The extractor fan was filthy and appeared to have mould inside - a health hazard I venture to suggest. There was also a nasty stain to what appears to be some sort of ducting in the ceiling in the room itself. The TV remote control did not work well. There is WiFi and the password is written on a scrap of paper blue tacked to the mirror! The WiFi did work. All in all a very poor experience not to be repeated and for which we were charged £100 for one night.

It is mainly a pub for locals with rooms above , the rooms are ok but wouldn’t want to spend anymore than one night there , it’s very uncomfortable and small . Postives is the breakfast which was very good and location for the centre of Stratford , car parking is in multi storey which you can access from the pub beer garden and cost £10 a night

Excessive noise from the pub downstairs…screaming, shouting, loud music, vibrations from the speakers until the early hours…no warning on booking. Dirty and tired rooms. Management don’t care and don’t call you back. Trip ruined and we couldn’t wait to leave! AVOID!

My husband and I booked in for one night’s stopover on the way home from the North. We were excited as hadn’t been to Stratford upon Avon before. The man in charge behind the bar was neither friendly nor welcoming. The room we were allocated was grubby and in need of some dire tlc. The bathroom was dirty. The shower cubicle was covered with black mould. Thick dust over doors. The pub itself wasn’t welcoming, but the pub opposite was great! There was no-one to check us out the next morning. The pub was locked! Luckily there was someone at the back gate, who claimed to be the owners partner. We gave him our room keys, and made a swift exit via the back entrance. Stratford upon Avon was stunning! AVOID this accommodation at all costs though! Oh,- noise throughout the night also prevented any sleep

What a dump! Rooms were filthy. Carpets dirty. Shower covered on mound and grime. Can’t think of a good thing to say. Noisy. Locks on doors hardly work, so don’t even think about leaving anything of any value in the room! Best part was when we checked out. Book here at your peril. Believe me , you will be disappointed! Nice area though…

DO NOT stay here unless it’s the last accommodation available!! The staff were friendly but that is the only positive comment I can leave. The room was dirty with a horrible smell of cigarettes mixed with cheap air freshener Carpets filthy I wiped down the towel rail … see photo Terrible experience
