Had to wait until 5pm to be checked in despite check in being advertised for 2pm. Rooms weren’t ready. None of the rooms at the resort seemed to be ready so a big crowd was waiting to check in. Tim Shae room was over priced and depressing. No fridge in room which was very very grim. Man with black hair at reception wouldn’t let us store food in the hotel fridge, wouldn’t even make us a complimentary coffee or soft drink for making us wait so long to get into our room. Rude understaffed workers stressed out because they clearly didn’t know what to do and have little support from management. Only four available for whole resort so difficult to book and expensive too. Advertised kayak company which does kayak tours for resort guests is closed down. I witnessed a fight at reception when man hiring four kayaks didn’t bring them back on time so others couldn’t kayak. Expensive food at restaurant with no bbqs or ways of cooking for Tim Shae rooms. Had booked for three nights but left after our first night. So disappointed. The place needs new management, staff who are trained and supported to be able to actually do their job and perhaps even make guests feel welcome. Don’t go here.

Stopped in for morning tea and came back for lunch whilst exploring the area. Friendly staff and beautiful location and stunning views from inside the restaurant, would have been lovely to sit at the outside tables on a nicer day. Nice hot drinks for morning tea, loved the spotty hot chocolate. Lunch was delicious. A sign at the T inside the grounds directing you to the restaurant would be a great idea.

The staff here were first class, & couldn't be faulted. The beds were very comfortable and the shower, stunning. The meals were excellent, both the evening and breakfast meals, and the morning coffee was wonderful. I thought deciding to play one of Dean Martin's albums on the audio during the evening meal suited my tastes exactly. The views outside the restaurant windows would be hard to beat anywhere I should think, & the beauty of that scenery makes you want to linger for a while. We enjoyed our night, loved the nearby sights & the feeling of remoteness was a nice feeling.

This is an exceptionally well-run accommodation and restaurant operation in one of the most remote places in Tasmania - Lakes Gordon and Pedder. The welcome and check in was very friendly and welcoming with all the information necessary provided in a casual but effective way. Staff were largely back packers from places as diverse as France and Alaska, some very new but all impressively skilled and supportive. The rooms are 'donga' style but very comfortable. Everything worked - electric jug, television controls and shower controls. Bedding was exceptionally clean and tidy - no worn covers or holes - and pillows were perfect. Bathroom soaps and toiletries were provided. It was almost impossible to find fault. The restaurant is particularly pleasant with wonderful views across Lake Pedder. Both lunch and dinner menus were thoughtful and servings generous (without being extravagant). The wine list is perfect for the style of food provided, which featured traditional dishes like steak, parmigiana, fish and chips but also more unusual ones. The buttered chicken, for example, was deemed as good as you could get in any Hobart Indian restaurant. Overall, our stay was most enjoyable, hassle-free and it was a pleasure dealing with the staff who were superb. We will be back.

What a wonderful 2 night stay we had at the lodge. The location is Sublime!!! The lodge was perfect for the location (Not only accessible $$ wise to the well healed with inappropriate 'luxury' not necessary or required)....so refreshing that it is catering to be shared by all. Our room was spotlessly clean, lovely linen and good beds. The staff are an absolute credit to the management of the lodge. The Manager's obviously appreciate their happiness and wellbeing....and it shows...delightful young people. The food was delicious, and reasonably priced. 5 star to you all. I could rave on on what a beautiful place...the drive to Scotts Peak not to be missed.... The Twelve Trees walk rewarded with a magnificent majestic view 360 ...all I can say is if you love the wilds.....don't miss it. I will be back asap ...with the kayak. With gratitude and much appreciation 🙏

Had a lake view room, the weather was sunny and calm, the lake was like a mirror. A must see is the Gordon Dam nearby. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was great and reasonably priced for a remote area. Lovely place to relax and catch the breath.

The accommodation was basic, but clean and appropriate. The bar staff were excellent, kind and obliging. The restaurant was amazing. The chefs were available from breakfast to dinner, turning out copious amounts of delicious and varied food. The only criticism one could make was that the plates were overly abundant with delicious and varied morsels. I led a group of 22 bushwalkers who were unanimous in their praise for the lodge. The boss was amazing and made our 4 day stay most enjoyable. A perfect base for bushwalking in the region
