I travel(led) a great deal and am well versed in the standard that is expected at Marriott properties. We had an issue the day we checked in because I used mobile check in on the app, as requested, but apparently the hotel does not have that system, yet. Our room was not assigned when we got in after an 11 hour drive, and we did not have the additional towels and pillows I had requested. I brought my concerns to the front of the house manager and she resolved all of my concerns immediately. The rest of our 10 day stay went without a hitch. Nice property, well maintained, staff are all very friendly.

I loved my stay at this hotel. It was very clean, daily room service, amazing staff. The most comfortable I have ever been in a hotel. Great breakfast options not to mention location. This is where I will stay every time I need a hotel here.

A couple of months ago I made a reservation for a five night stay at the Towneplace Suites Suffolk VA. Since I was travelling for work (military), I requested a government/military rate at the time of reservation. There were some issues upon check-in, the hotel property had overbooked for one, so I had to stay elsewhere for a night (which the hotel took care of to my satisfaction). The real issue arouse when I was billed: Upon check-out I was heading to the airport so I didn’t study the bill. On closer inspection of the bill (after I had already left the hotel property) I noticed that they hadn’t applied a government rate but had instead given me standard rate. I contacted the hotel and explained the issue, they said there was nothing they could do. It seems unacceptable to me that they wouldn’t honor their initially quoted/assigned rate.

I am rating my stay a 5 simply because the hotel was very very clean, right down to the stairwells. I liked how nobody entered my room to clean, made me feel more comfortable. But best of all besides being very clean, the hotel is pet friendly!!!

Came to Virginia for a funeral and couldn’t believe what I was told from the front desk at this location. They said they won’t refresh your room until you have stayed for 7 days. So if you want a refresh of your room, you will have to do it your self. my second issue was with a request for pillows. We have small children and they said they couldn’t give us any extra pillows for the pull out sofa for our suite. We thought, if we waited to ask on the second night that something would change but it didn’t. I am considering contacting upper management. But please think twice about staying at this location.

I went to Virginia with my family to meet our relatives. I was pleasantly surprised how perfectly the hotel is located - in front of the park. Same time, shopping center is behind the corner, as well as Walmart and Starbucks. When we arrived, we were greeted by Ms. Jacquayla at the front desk. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable about area and the Hotel, made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The room was spacious, bright, very clean and had everything for your convenience. We had very busy day meeting with relatives and it was such a pleasure to come to our hotel room afterwards and have a very good rest . I will definitely recommend this property to stay for my friends and will return myself next time we come for family gathering.

Who could ask for more? Extremely clean, bed very comfortable… quiet on third floor. We had an excellent clerk , James, at the front desk to take our phone reservation and to greet us, check us in, and help us with finding a restaurant for dinner. We were very pleased with our stay and would stay again, for sure.
