One of several hotels in the Bluesun Hotel Village Velaris, just outside Supetar. The building and rooms are modern and bright. We were on the first floor of an annex (recognizable by ramps that level out the level of annexes). Room type: Superior double room, sea side. Even though we were "only" on the first floor, we had a small view of the sea, but you could even see Split in the distance. The size of the room was unsuitable for longer stays. The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together, which regularly slipped apart. The mattresses were either a bit saggy or too soft. No suitcase stands. No table, just a kind of triangular shelf that runs through half the room and is wide enough at the balcony that an armchair can be placed under it. There is a table and 2 armchairs on the balcony. The bathroom, on the other hand, is a comfortable size (bath/toilet). WIFI is perfect and free. Huge hotel complex with lots of greenery, flowers, trees and plants. Very well maintained. A pool that offered enough space outside of the season. If everything is full, I imagine it will be very crowded. But you don't go to the sea for a pool. You can swim on a beach in a pretty bay. The reception was moderately enthusiastic, a little more friendliness and patience would not have gone amiss. According to reception, it is a 15-minute walk to the restaurants in Supetar. The lady at reception did not seem to understand that this distance would be difficult for someone with physical disabilities. On the other hand, the lady serving at the bar was extremely helpful and gave us restaurant tips. We were told on the first day that the breakfast buffet was in the hotel restaurant (another building). The buffet was good and plentiful. It is not very flattering that there was no Dalmatian prsut in a 4* hotel. Even 3* hotels can manage that. The restaurant was not very busy as it was out of season, which was nice for us who were looking for a quiet holiday. When we went back to the restaurant on the second day, the doors were closed. Hm, but we had breakfast included. So we went back to our hotel. Breakfast was here now. Much less space, the inevitable crowds when the buffet is only accessible from one side. Not as pleasant as on the first day. Top value for money (October), I deduct one point because access to a modern hotel, and that is the impression it gives, should be barrier-free, or you should at least get help carrying your luggage without even having to mention it. Plus points: +) the location of our room was taken into account +) large bathroom +) very quiet (in October) +) lots of natural light in the room. The entire wall facing the balcony is glazed. +) hotel interior Minus points: -) sea view - well. We had one, a bit of sea. Most of the view was of the green area and other buildings in the resort -) saggy mattresses etc.
