The Island Gold Coast

We were dropping off our daughter at university in Queensland and decided to do some sightseeing. We spent three days and two nights on the Gold Coast, staying at this hotel which is a short walk from the beach, just past a lively snack street. The hygiene was good, but the soundproofing wasn't great. There was construction downstairs, and we heard the drilling early in the morning!

The room was spacious and comfortable. We booked a family room this time, and it even had a small kitchenette, making it easy to prepare dinner and breakfast with some groceries. All the utensils were provided. The balcony was a double balcony, with a side view of the beach not too far away, which was great. The room was cleaned daily, and we even received complimentary crisps and snacks. Overall, a great experience.

The hotel has a bar on the ground floor, which is part of the hotel and gets quite lively in the evenings. The location is very central, with many restaurants and souvenir shops right outside. The tram station is also very close by. The room is small but clean and tidy. There are two large beds, which are a bit soft. The hangers are very practical, making it easy to hang or place clothes. There's a balcony for ventilation and drying clothes. Two bags of chips and a carton of milk are provided daily, free of charge. The front desk service is also good; if the room doesn't have slippers, just ask at the front desk. The only downside is the renovation downstairs, which starts around 7:30 AM and is very noisy. Later, I found out the hotel is building an outdoor pool. Overall, it's still a good stay.

The hotel's location is super convenient. It's about 200 meters from the Gold Coast G:link station, right across from a shopping center, and only about 400 meters from the beach. The room is very spacious and even has a kitchen. The two beds in the twin suite are huge and very comfortable. Looking out from the balcony is a real mood booster, and the cleanliness is top-notch. It's a shame the pool was under renovation, as the construction noise started quite early every morning, which might bother light sleepers. Otherwise, everything else was a huge plus. The room was very spacious, easily accommodating four people. The location is excellent, with supermarkets and countless restaurants nearby, and it's only a few minutes' walk to the beach! In the morning, we even had a visit from adorable kookaburras!

The staff at Gold Coast Hotel were really great, and there are plenty of restaurants and fun things to do nearby. I'll definitely come back again, and I'll bring my friends and family too...
