This hotel must have been grand in it's younger days. The reception lobby looks good and the staff are polite and friendly. The rooms are fairly big, but need to be updated. Lighting is dim. The shower cubicle is a bit smaller than usual but water is hot and at a good pressure. The hotel is within walking distance of the town center. The included breakfast is sparse (bread, no toaster, butter & jam, baked beans from a can, scrambled egg, pathetic looking sausages and sachet coffee. The room does grow on you and becomes more welcoming and cozy in a day or two. One big problem was that the beds are on wheels and move around on the wooden floor. No leaning with a pillow on the wall to read at night as the bed will immediately skid away from the wall. PLEASE REMOVE THOSE BED WHEELS. Parking is limited if you have a car. The free wifi was not good at all
