Hotels near Kuojiatou Lane, Suzhou

This boutique hotel is unique in many ways. The entire first floor is composed of a reception, real small coffee shop with real barista level equipment, and a huge art gallery/studio. As you head up the super wide stair case you realize that this is an older building with super high ceilings as well. There is art everywhere, giving the hotel added personality. Rooms are perfectly clean, beds comfortable, and for a neighborhood as popular as this, there was absolutely no noise with windows shut. The staff were welcoming, and I had a chance to meet the owner, also an artist in residence! He welcomed a conversation about his art and gave me a mini tour, even showed me his latest complete work which he had finished several minutes before I was introduced. I bought some small, artistic gift items from his mini store and resolved to make this the hotel I would stay at most frequently in Suzhou. For those of you who don't know this area, it is an older section of Suzhou with beautiful canals and many, coffee shops, bars, popular/quality restaurants.

Generally speaking, everything is OK, there are many rooms, and it is indeed a former state-owned brand. The front desk has a very old feel and is also very clean and well-organized. The room is actually not fine, it just has a sense of age, but the most important thing is that it is clean! Facilities: New carpets were being replaced on the day of check-in. Hygiene: OK, this is the most important thing. Environment: There is a small garden where you can stop. Service: Very good. Youqi is the guy named Sima, which is great. When you go back after dark, you can take the nearby Nan Shipi Lane. It is very convenient to connect to the Master of the Nets Garden and is suitable for walking.

The staff made our stay in April 2024 very comfortable. In particular the front desk staff Ms Judy Chan is very competent at helping us with all sightseeing details and made us feel most welcome. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to Jinling Nanlin for good memories of Suzhou.

I stayed at the hostel during renovation works, so I won't bother reviewing the rooms or cleanliness, as it will obviously change in the following days. What I can say (that won't change) is that the location is great (right next to the twin pagodas) and that the owner is fluent in English.

The hotel is an old four-star hotel. The hardware is a bit old, but the hygiene is good. The front desk also upgraded the room and the service attitude is very good. Parking is also very convenient, with ground and underground parking spaces. Opposite the hotel is Suzhou Library, and there is a bus stop next to it, which is very convenient to Suzhou Station. Nearby is Shiquan Street, which is particularly crowded with young people. A street for shopping and eating can meet all your needs.

It is a nice and chill hostel. Most people keep to themselves, but I wouldn't say that is necessarily a bad thing. Facilities are great too. However, the layout of the singular pod rooms are strange and it is still essentially a shared room with 4-6 people, but the way it is built, you basically have your own small room. I don't think this works as people are constantly hitting the walls of their tiny room and slamming the doors of their rooms. Basically, don't expect to have a peaceful night's sleep.

I've booked two nights of family size apartment (which is really spacious and impressive with its views). Unfortunately, I had a fly in the ointment after the first night there. Receptionist called me at 2 o'clock and informed me, that it's time to check out. I was slightly puzzled and went downstairs to the lobby right after the call. They told me again about checking out, so I showed them my booking information, they also seemed confused and concerned. Fortunately, they solved this issue, but I'd say it's my first time to face such ridiculous issue, although they claim themselves as a 5 star hotel. I hope they'll improve their service and booking system.

Room was clean and tidy. Very Friendly lady at front desk helped me with a lot. Had upgraded the room for me, helped with my wifi connection, navigation, wechat usage and even recommended places to eat and visit. For a solo traveller first time in suzhou, she made my stay pleasant. Room amenities were just sufficient for me. The bun shop downstairs sells really nice 鲜肉月饼 n I personally love the rose 月饼. 8 mins walk from 三香广场 station, quite convenient as there's a Starbucks, kfc and family mart just outside exit 2.

I stayed here for the last two nights of my one-week trip to Suzhou with my parents. The room was clean and comfortable, the environment was great, the service was great, and there was a self-service laundry room for washing and drying. It was great for me and my elderly and frail parents who like to travel easily and bring few clothes. The location was also very convenient, and my parents were very happy. I will definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Suzhou.
