Sugarbeat Eating House

Had a meal last Friday with friends, we had an extra guest decide to eat, no problem moved our table to a bigger one. Good food, cheesecake amazing! Staff lovely, nice music in garden. All in all great place to visit and affordable. Also plenty of parking.

Came today with 2 friends Service was great the young lady serving was so lovely a credit to have her working at the business and the food was great Lovely environment All good would definitely recommend Spotless clean Suitable for everyone

Sunday lunch !! Was fabulous Great food and brilliant staff ( especially when one has got the wrong arrival time in their head !- wasn’t an issue , they still accommodated us . The roasts were delicious and brilliant value for money . The desserts were home made ( basically to die for ! ) Definitely recommended

Lovely night away from home greeted on arrival by Chloe, she was so nice very welcoming, and she was there with a smile when we went for breakfast, she must like working there! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We booked a table at Sugar Beat, as a large group with only a days notice. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and managed to get all our food out at the same time, which was all hot and really delicious. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you.

Was searching for a place to stay that wouldn't break the bank and was close enough to a friend in Rockland St Mary (which is about 16min drive from this place) Easy check-in and shown to twin room. Very comfy bed, well appointed room with exception of no wardrobe , but did have a pull out rail, but only 2 hangers for clothes! Bathroom had a large shower, lovely big fluffy towels, complementary shower gel and shampoos. Room has an a/c unit. Triple glazed windows as it's on a main road but noise didn't bother me. Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 9am but if you need an earlier meal this can be arranged. Didn't eat in the evening but menu looked lovely and catered for gluten free and vegetarian diets I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was pretty decent however the main issue was the noise from the road. It’s really strange how they have done nothing about it, I’ve stayed in other roadside hotels and there’s been secondary double glazing to keep the noise out and it works. Also the curtains were terrible so when you inevitably got woken up by the traffic noise the room was flooded with early morning light so there was no way you were hearing back to sleep. Hoped breakfast would make up for it, as it was included in the rate and you could choose anything from their menu. However, we ended up waiting about 40 mins for the food to arrive and it wasn’t really worth it. Sorry but that’s really unacceptable for a hotel. People want to start their days quickly. Also I was given my fruit juice in a filthy glass.

Great food, incredible service, amazing room but unbelievable noise from above our bedroom. Really loud TV & gaming until quarter to one in the morning. Totally antisocial person above our room. Such a shame because everything else was brilliant.

The staff was outstanding with great hospitality skills. The breakfast very tasted with zero faults on quality and taste. Eventhough room being an attic conversion was huge in size, the tilted ceilings we ended up banging our heads on the wall several times was painful and annoying. The shower drain was blocked even with shower having hardly no flow and little stones lying around on the bathroom floor. The air-conditioning unit had no power so very sweaty sleeping. Nevertheless, the breakfast and all the staff outruns the poor feedback but hope the hotel can rectify these issues to gain 5 star.
