The Sandhaven

Friendly hosts, ideal location, super breakfast, what's not to like? Stayed for 3 nights in Room 1, quiet at the rear of the building, with an en suite bathroom (shower over bath). You order breakfast night before, so no delays in service in the morning. Some parking at the front, and best to arrive early to be sure of a space. Excellent value - would be very happy to return.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Sandhaven Martine and John are natural hosts who could not have done more for us They have a lovely friendly attitude towards guests both regular and new and serve one of the best breakfasts I have had recently The room was clean well equipped, tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable best of all just a short walk from the beach !!

We've just returned from a short break in Swanage, lovely seaside town and a good base for visiting other Dorset attractions such as Durdle Door, Corfe Castle and Compton Acres. The Sandhaven was picked because it was among the cheapest options available so we didn't have huge expectations, however it was perfect for us and highly recommended. It's located just off the seafront, about a 10 minute walk away from the town centre where most of the shops, pubs and restaurants are. There is a great pub just a few doors away though where we enjoyed a good meal one evening. There are 6 parking spaces at the front, we were able to use one each day. The Sandhaven is a bright, clean and comfortable place with a friendly feel thanks to John and Martine, who as many other reviews have mentioned are the nicest hosts you're likely to find. Our room had everything needed, decent shower and WiFi. Breakfast is cooked and presented beautifully, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. I was asked if my veggie sausages were to my liking or I'd prefer a different brand - they were my favourite ones but the attention to detail was unexpected and appreciated!

Lovely friendly hosts. Very helpful. Clean fresh premises. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows. Good breakfast. Caters for special dietary requirements. Ideal location - you can walk down the road to the beach and along the promenade to the town. No need to drive.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. Highly recommend staying in this lovely b&b,very close to all amenities. Bedroom was spotlessly clean with good tea/coffee making facilities. Beds where really comfortable and pillows nice and soft.bathroom/shower was also spotless with shower/handwash supplied.hairdryer also supplied. Breakfast was amazing 👏 😋. With plenty of choice hosts well they where just lovely and couldnt have been more helpful and so cheerful. Nothing was to much trouble for these 2 lovlies. Thankyou so much for our stay you where great and we will return.xx

Partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Customer service experience was a 10/10, super friendly and more than accommodating to anything we required. Breakfast was superb, range of drinks (good coffee), the full English wasn’t greasy, just the right portion size and made from local produce! Only constructive feedback on the breakfast would be to include some continental options pastries and yoghurts. Room was warm and clean - the bathroom did the job for us but the shower and sink are slightly dated. All in all, really lovely and will definitely Ben returning to stay again! Thank you!

A wonderful family run bed and breakfast, within walking distance of the seafront. We were made to feel very welcome by John and Martine, they certainly were the hosts with the most. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were a happy, helpful and humourous couple. The en suite room was very clean, cosy and welcoming. Breakfast was a delight, with special dietary needs catered for. It was a joy to spend time there. Would we stay there again? Too right we would. Thank you for a great stay. 💖

Great situation, close to the sea and town centre. Lovely, friendly hosts; the whole establishment was exceptionally clean. There is a lovely lounge for guests’ use & we were told we were welcome to use the dining room in the evening if we decided to have a takeaway, and the clearing up would be done for us. Easy to find and parking wasn’t an issue. We would definitely return to this guest house.

After a small mishap with the keys we had an absolutely wonderful stay. Very comfortable room and bed. We had a wonderful breakfast every day and John and Martine were such attentive and wonderful hosts. Would definitely stay here again. Made to feel very welcome and nothing felt like too much trouble.
