Me and my husbang visited Gaikou for our anniversary. Beautiful place. Will definitely visit again. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The property is well maintained and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Excellent starting point for starting Garden route when you arrive by plane at Capetown. Great accomodation with beautiful view on mountains in peaceful surrounding

We have stayed here four times now and have never been disappointed. Staff is friendly, the rooms are large and spotless and one could not ask for a nicer venue in the delightful little town.

A gem in the mountains. We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious and value for money. Situated so you can enjoy the sights of the fields and the mountains from anywhere in the property, you could be forgiven to think you are in the alps. The 2 ladies running the lodge are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served to order and very good quality. I'd be very happy to return and would recommend it.

Fantastic place with beautiful views of the mountains that turned snow white overnight, gifting us a huge memorable highlight to the end of 3-week tour. The luxury rooms are just spectacular and real value for money. To top it all we were treated to a lovely farm style breakfast. We already planning our next visit to Gaikou Lodge/

Excellent stay. We were kept warm with the heater and electric blanket. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There was a limit of the number of tea bags provided so bring your own. We had a lot of baboon droppings on our veranda and they were on the chairs provided so we know they weren't checked before we checked in.

Beautiful surrounds but rooms need maintenance, was also very dirty, aircon broken, fridge broken. No ice in fridge or at the establishment. Condiments were not replaced. All in all rooms very dirty and there was also cockroaches

This was one of the nicest venues we have ever stayed in. The room was large, and the layout interesting. It was all spotless. The property is really lovely and the views unparalled. Staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast great

The location is superb. The view from the rooms onto the forest and mountain is very peaceful. We enjoyed the river and spent quite some time there. Fishing was challenging but on the morning of our last day we caught 5 well sized fish (bass and tilapia). At night we watched the owls attracted by the garden lights catching insects, which was fascinating. There were lots of cobwebs in the rooms. But mostly the wedding ceremony held in front of our room. Speakers and DJ was set up next door, so not more than 3 meters from us. As it was a hot afternoon the wedding guests made themselves comfortable on the verandas of the adjacent rooms, giving ours a miss when they say it was occupied. The only warning we had was at breakfast on the day and it was hugely downplayed.
