Cottage Inn at Lake Tahoe

Absolutely charming! My fiancé and I choose this destination to get married on the private beach with just the two of us and our officiant. Best decision we made. Kelly, the Inn keeper, is probably one of the nicest persons we have met. She keeps the premise and rooms immaculate and cozy. Our complimentary breakfasts were delicious and simple to order. We look forward to return for our anniversary.

Darling rooms , each room different ! Nice little fridge . Breakfast was delicious ! They deliver to your room at a time you choose . Staff pleasant snd helpful. We had an issue with a light in room and they came immediately and repaired it . Private beach directly across from the Inn. Very quiet Inn . Restaurants within walking yet you feel away from it . Loved it there , will return .

The Cottage Inn was an incredible find and truly made our first visit to Lake Tahoe so magical. To start, the location is perfect if you want a more private, secluded feel. The property is directly across the street from a bike and kayak rental store. I highly recommend taking advantage of the bike rental, as the trail is located behind the property and was one of the major highlights of our trip! As a guest at the cottages, you will also have access to the private beach directly behind the property, which offers a much more private beach feeling that we enjoyed. The property is also a short walk away from an adorable local market that offers sandwiches, pizzas, coffee and ice cream, and groceries. As for the property, check-in was a breeze, and the staff were all kind and helpful. The cabin was perfect for our needs, and breakfast was delicious! The meals were hand delivered each morning and were packaged adorably. If we ever return to Lake Tahoe, we would return to this location!

Charming and personal accommodation. We loved our 3 night stay at the Cottage inn. Attention to detail was reminiscent of a European holiday. Beautifully presented breakfast was delivered to our room each morning. This place is a gem and we would definitely return next time we visit Lake Tahoe.

Our family traveled from across the USA and booked three rooms, all in the same building, for six nights over Christmas. Best decision ever! The check-in process was very easy, and we were thrilled with our rooms. We were escorted to the rooms by Terese and given the basic information for our stay. Breakfast daily is included, and the instructions are easy to follow. Any other supplies (soap, shampoo, towels. etc.) can also be requested with ease. We fell in love with The Cottage Inn when we saw their website and booked our trip, but we really didn't expect the place would live up to the photos. We were wrong. The actual location and the charming cottages, which were covered in about a foot of snow, blew us away! It was like being in a Hallmark Christmas movie! Each room is decorated based on a unique theme. My husband and I stayed in Sail Away. Our adult daughter stayed in Dream Catcher. And our adult son and his wife stayed in Sierra Siesta. We were all very happy with our rooms. (FYI, Sail Away is an accessible room, and the bathroom is outfitted accordingly. It worked for us.) Our room was on the first floor, and our kids were on the second floor via separate entrances. This gave us all enough privacy with convenient proximity to each other. We spent most of our time as a family in the Sail Away room, but our children spent quite a bit of time together in the Dream Catcher room because of it's size and layout. The rooms are equipped with a mini refrigerator but no microwave, which we did miss on a few occasions (to reheat what we couldn't eat at breakfast) but managed without. There is also a coffee maker in the room, and the coffee supplied was excellent. Sugar, raw sugar, and sugar substitutes are provided, as well as creamers. If you run low, they will bring you more. Just ask. Breakfast is requested the night before via a checklist of items that you hang outside the door. You also select your preferred delivery time: 7:30-8:00, 8:00-8:30, 8:30-9:00, or 9:00-9:30. Lots of options to choose from, and most of us just asked for one of each item, but you can request as many of each item as you like. This includes a nice sized piece of quiche or frittata, a fresh pastry, a hard-boiled egg, plain yogurt, a fruit cup, and house made granola. Yum! Also included are plastic utensils, a napkin, and salt and pepper. Everything is packaged beautifully in a pastry box and delivered by a staff member with a smile. We were all stuffed every day, and breakfast was definitely one of the highlights! The quiche and frittata change every day. Our favorite was the one with potatoes, but there was also a Mexican version served with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream on the side. The fact that these were Christmas colors served on Christmas day was not lost upon us! There is a lot of attention to detail here! The location is just off of a busy roadway, but we never heard the traffic indoors. Rather, we were all quite comfortable and cozy by the gas fireplac

My husband and I stayed at The Cottage Inn for three nights in September. It’s well placed for visiting Emerald Bay and is a short drive from Tahoe City. Breakfast is delivered in a cardboard box to the door of your room and no one enters your room during your stay although you can request fresh towels or coffee pods so it’s a good choice if you are keen to keep socially distanced from other people.

My family came to Tahoe for a wedding, and one of my sisters found the Cottage Inn online. We booked four rooms so we could attend the wedding at Palisades Tahoe. I am SO happy that my sister found the Cottage Inn for us to stay! We all agreed that we were very happy that we stayed at the Cottage Inn over any other hotel or resort in Tahoe! The Inn has charming cottages on the property, and each room has a different theme. I stayed in the Cottage Time room and absolutely loved my two nights there! The bed was so comfortable as were the sheets and pillows! The rooms are well decorated and are so comfortable. I loved sitting in the chairs under the tall trees on the property to relax and read. There is access to the lake, and we enjoyed some time on the lake as well. Each morning breakfast was brought to our rooms, and you can either eat in your room or on their patio outside the lodge. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! There was always a hot entree along with a pastry, yogurt, granola, fruit and a hard-boiled egg. You can order as much or as little as you like. We enjoyed talking with Kelly, the new owner. She's a warm and friendly person and made us feel right at home. The staff at the Cottage Inn are also so friendly, helpful, and they make sure that their guests enjoy their stay. I came away feeling very rested and am so grateful that I got to enjoy three days and two nights at the Cottage Inn. I wish that we had booked more nights there. I can't wait to go back!

We were given a gift certificate and it was well worth it. We stayed in the cabin for 2 days. the cabin was very clean and quiet. We had breakfast deliver each morning. The room was again very comftable.

We stayed 4 nights at The Cottage Inn in August 2022. We enjoyed Tahoe but this inn wasn’t the 5 star experience we expected from the many reviews we read while researching places near Tahoe City. Our 4 star review is overly generous. It should be 3 1/2. Since each room is different, we can only comment on the Happy Trails room. Pros Attractive exteriors and landscaping. Nicely decorated room with large bath. The property is almost lakeside. Keyed access to a semi-private beach with many nice amenities. Within easy walking distance from restaurants, bike and water sport rentals. Next to great bike path that goes 15 miles. Two miles from central Tahoe City and several great restaurants. Cons No A/C. Ceiling fan with no speed control. Must keep windows constantly open to cool room. Open windows greatly impacts privacy and allows road noise. “Home cooked” breakfasts are almost identical every day. You must eat them out of a box with plastic utensils. (We were awakened at 7:00am one morning by an employee that accidentally delivered our neighbor’s breakfast to our room) Dismal water pressure from shower head. Expect sap on your vehicle as all parking is under pine trees. Our room had no dressers or drawers. Bed was way too soft. Cheap pillows. Poor Wi-Fi. Lost connection frequently. Room door requires a key. Only one key supplied. Key is on a HUGE , inconvenient fob. There’s lots of potential at this inn and it’s in a great location. All things considered, we will stay elsewhere on our next visit to Tahoe. Having no A/C , impacted privacy and the same breakfast 4 days in a row are deal breakers for us.
