Hotels near Xinshi Train Station, Tainan

Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was a very grand and pleasant hotel. The lobby had a beautiful Christmas tree and they let us check in early. There were 38 floors which was impressive and the room was big and bright. The beds were comfy and the TV had YouTube and Netflix with many other channels. However, there was some dust on the cupboards and the sofa bed needed money to be turned into a bed. There were many food places near the hotel as well. But go to Anping, Garden night market or Da Tung night market need to take taxi. Overall, Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was enjoyable for my family.

Rooms are clean & spacious. NT50 for toiletries as it's not being provided. Hotel staffs are also very polite n courteous. Hotel is walkable to many places of interest! 1. Arrived late at hotel. They told me supper was served at hotel restaurant (included in booking fee). Good spread of food and beverages. Room was spacious and clean but decor a bit dated (esp the bedside lamps) Service was helpful and attentive. Location quite far from Tainan HSR. Can take free shuttle bus and alight at Koxinga Shrine stop.

Second stay at this hotel in 2024. Location is generally good for exploring of sights and with many good food options close by. My overall experience for this time was not as good as previously (before covid) though, with hotel amenities seemingly dated and lacking proper maintenance behind the surface. Staff were polite, though did not feel as warm or welcomed as previous. When I enquired about the bicycle loan that was listed on the hotel card issued to me during check-in, I was also told that the service was not available and I could rent a bicycle at the public kiosk instead (probably should not list or offer a service that the hotel does not intend to provide).

The men's sauna is very nice. We've tried the swimming pool and gym as well. The facilities are nicely maintained, totally worth the price. Upper level rooms do not have a bathtub, which is the only thing that we think is unfortunate during our stay, oh and the pillow service seems to be very limited, we started our night on Friday, but it was already rented out.

Overall not bad! The price of booking on trip is more affordable than booking at a hotel. The service attitude is very good and the environment is very hygienic. However, it is difficult to find parking spaces nearby. This is a fly in the ointment! Although the hotel has parking spaces, there are too few, and the corresponding parking lot is only a 5-minute walk away. Except for the parking problem, everything else is not bad ~ Although there are not many choices for breakfast, it can be seen that it is very clean and hygienic! The sauces all have expiration dates marked on them, and the plates are put away quickly.

A family oriented hotel so solo travelers might felt a bit ignored. Adding a coffee machine at the lobby would be very helpful. They follow Japanese check in check out hours and also quite strict about it… I think that’s the biggest downside of the hotel. You will have to wait exactly after 3pm for the room and out in 11 even they are not full. Otherwise the room and location is good, would recommend.

There are many kinds of breakfast. You have to wait a long time for the elevator! Mechanical parking is the biggest inconvenience. The room decoration is free, but the facilities cannot be used after check-out. The swimming pool is a bit bright, it is much bigger in the photos, and I was a little disappointed when I arrived. Playroom perfect for preschoolers! Hair dryer and toiletries are very good.

The picture is attached to the real thing. The owner is really careful to organize the homestay, especially the room design is very beautiful, and the homestay also provides many play facilities. It is a very good place to have a large group of friends to meet.

I wanted to test the famous mud springs. This hotel reportedly has one of the best spas. Tips: - I decided to stay overnight in the hotel (2 spa entry tickets with a double room + bfast for $2800) instead of using a day ticket to the spa (400$). The village is far from the city, so staying overnight may cost slightly more than a cheap city hotel, but you're not in a rush and looking for buses etc. - Each spa ticket is basically 2x tickets (1 for the normal spa, and 1 for the naked single-sex spa), so if there are 2 of you, you could go to the naked spa one day and the main spa the next. - The spa has about 15 different hot spring pools, of different temperatures + ingredients, some clear and some ”mud”. There's also mud facials and fish-cleaning for your feet. The electric pools send electric shocks through your body too. There's a swimming pool. - They speak English (basic but enough). - You need a swimming hat and a towel. I took mine but the spa front desk also offered them to borrow. - Plan on spending 3 hours. I'm not a spa lover, but even i found myself taking long. - I went in May and the weather is not at all hot at that height. - Most ********* take their instant noodles in, so that they can eat inside and stay all day. - The hotel is quite beautiful, made from wood (on the face of it). It's got lovely seating areas and they put nice fairy lights everywhere at night. - The hotel room is comparatively expensive for Taiwan at $2800 for 3* (minus the 2x spa tickets of $400 each), but the cheapest ”no window” room (it has 2 windows, but no view) is big and has 2 large concrete baths in (1 for hot mud water + 1 for cold water to dip in and out). Therefore, given that it is a beautiful location too, I do think it's very reasonable. - The breakfast is mostly chinese but there's some western bits. It's standard for 3* but the location of the eating area has beautiful views of the jungle. - It's a 15 minute nice walk to lots of restaurants and a convenience shop.
