Sunny Hotel Reviews

We paid almost $300 USD for one room on a Saturday night. Typically rooms are relatively expensive in Taipei, especially on a Friday or Saturday so we expected it to be a bit pricier. The room itself was big and the beds were also quite large. The location itself is good but everything else about it was horrible. We got the top floor but there were many issues with the hotel and room. First, the hotel we booked was “sunny hotel”, but the name on the building was ReLite hotel so it was difficult to find. When entering the reception area the whole building smelled like sewage. Second, the room smelled musty and had tiny ants both in the bathroom and in the room. Third, the glass sliding door that lead to the bathroom was difficult to open, could not close all the way, and could not be locked. They provided tea, water, toothbrush, shower cap, and shampoo (all pretty typical for hotels in Taiwan). EVEN FOR $50 I WOULD RECONSIDER GETTING A ROOM HERE.

Good for the price

The advantage is that it is right next to the MRT Beimen Station, so it is very convenient to go anywhere. The disadvantage is that the hair dryer is very small and needs to be pressed all the time. It is really a bit inconvenient to use.

It is conveniently located about 5 minutes walk from Taipei Main Station on the Airport Rail Link. It takes about the same amount of time to get to Ximen Station or the center of Ximen. The rooms are moderately old and not much different from other mid-priced hotels in Taipei. The reception staff and cleaning staff were all friendly, so I felt comfortable.

While we were still sleeping in the morning, the cleaning staff actually barged in to collect the garbage. We were so frightened while lying on the bed that we didn’t dare to stop us. We didn’t get any reply when we contacted the hotel receptionist, so we couldn’t do anything the next day. Sleeping soundly, it’s really scary! There is also a slight difference between the actual room and the photos on the website, but the location of the hotel is okay. I will not choose this hotel just because of the convenient location next time. It is a tragedy😓

It's located right next to Taipei Main Station, so it's very convenient to go to the airport. There is an elevator at the second entrance, so it's easy to carry heavy luggage.

My experience this time was really bad. When I arrived, I showed the screenshot of my order to the counter staff. After checking, the front desk staff asked me when I ordered it. I told him the time and showed him that it was from trip.com. He said he really didn’t have the order. Of course I refused to leave and asked his supervisor to check again. He reluctantly helped me into the office to check again. He didn’t ask me to sit down next to him. I stood at the front desk for 15 minutes. Finally, I finally found out that my reservation was there, but there was no room in Yuelai that I had reserved. So I was told to upgrade to a room in Lilai, but after entering the room, I found that the decoration was very old and I saw pictures of Yuelai on the platform. It didn’t match, but I stayed. The sound of the engine was super noisy when the air conditioner was turned on. Fortunately, it was autumn and the windows in his room could be opened so the air conditioner was not used. The shower curtain in the bathroom was moldy. I didn't take any pictures because the lighting was too poor. The scariest thing happened on the morning of the day of departure. Between 7:40 and 8:00 in the morning, there were multiple knocks on the door. Finally, a strange man entered the room. When he came to our bed, my mother and I were both women. I was frightened and yelled to ask him what was going on. He wandered around the room and went out. I immediately called the front desk and told me that they would help me adjust the CCTV to check, but when I checked out two hours later in the morning, I still didn’t see the results, so their supervisor came out to talk to me, and I told him why There will be people who can go in without a key and room card. He said that they were also surprised and would check the CCTV to give me an answer. I asked them to come back at four o'clock to see the results. As a result, when I came back at four o'clock, the supervisor left, so I sent a check-in person on the same day. The clerk who said there was no order for me spoke to me. Even though it was his group guests who accidentally entered the wrong room, their room was old and they could enter without a key and room card. He gently said sorry. . I asked them what kind of compensation they had, and he said that since the supervisor had left, there was no way to make any compensation. I thought it was really terrible, and their response was also very bad.

We stayed for three nights during the New Year period. The space was sufficient and the sanitation was good. The cleaning lady cleaned and changed the sheets every day, which is worthy of praise. It's just that the overall hardware, decoration, beds, and bedding are old, but overall they are acceptable, but not bad. It's only five minutes away from Beimen Station and Ximending, which is convenient. The Taoyuan Airport MRT is only about 15 minutes' walk away. The entire journey is flat, so dragging is not a problem. 

The location is good, very close to Taipei Main Station and also very close to Ximending. But the facilities are a bit old and the decoration is also old. It feels completely like a hotel, not a hotel. As soon as you walk into the front desk, you can already feel it. In addition, the room space is actually enough, but the hot water in the shower is really not hot!  When you open the door, you will smell an old smell in the room~

Good points: - Walk to Ximen Tung, not very far  about 300 meters, looking from the room down to see the view of the main road of eight lanes. - The room has a large double bed, can be booked as a triple, one person in each room can sleep comfortably  - Tea and coffee sachets available in the room are delicious. Improved: -  The service of the staff may not be very friendly. - The place is quite hard to find, if taking a car to the alley will be one way

Compared with chain hotels, the environment and equipment are old, so booking is not recommended. The profile of the hotel shows that they are all on the ground floor, but the actual occupancy is on the 9th to 10th floors, and the actual housing situation is not ideal. Fortunately, I noticed that the signboard in the previous comment sharing showed Li Lai (without adding Yuelai), so I didn’t spend too much time looking for it. The hotel.
