Fairfield by Marriott Taiyuan South

This was the best hotel I stayed at in Taiyuan! The breakfast was great with a wide selection, and the staff were really helpful. It's only a 5-minute walk from Taiyuan South Station – you can just exit through the back door of the hotel! The room was also exceptionally clean 👍

I arrived a little after 10 PM. It was about a five or six-minute walk from Taiyuan South Station. Check-in was very smooth, and the front desk staff were incredibly nice, even giving me a complimentary fruit welcome gift. The breakfast was quite varied and I was very satisfied.

This hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Taiyuan South Station, which is incredibly convenient for travelers. It's very clean, the environment is tidy, and the front desk staff, especially the young man who checked us in, was really enthusiastic. He even offered us a welcome gift and breakfast vouchers. The mini-bar in the room had complimentary drinks, which was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast selection was extensive and delicious, and the serving hours were quite long, perfect for those of us who like to sleep in. There's a large shopping mall nearby, making it easy to shop and dine. This is a truly excellent hotel, I'm very satisfied, and I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Taiyuan.

The Fairfield by Marriott has a great location, just a short walk from Taiyuan South Railway Station. Personally, I found the breakfast to be quite average, and it felt a bit overpriced, so the overall value for money wasn't great. There's a large shopping mall right across the street, which makes finding dining options quite convenient. An airport shuttle bus is also available. While it doesn't stop directly at the hotel and requires a short walk, it's still quite convenient.

First, the pros: 1) The location is excellent, just a 3-5 minute walk to the South Railway Station entrance. 2) It's situated amidst a cluster of new office buildings, offering a clean and elegant environment. The rooms are modernly furnished and feel spacious. 3) The service is warm and attentive; staff were always ready to assist. 4) The hotel front desk proactively upgraded our room. 5) The breakfast offers a good variety of choices. There are several small supermarkets nearby, and a mall is just across the street. 6) We were also pleasantly surprised with a welcome gift on check-in day, including fruit and pastries – a really nice touch! 👍 Areas for improvement: 1) The bed was too soft; after just two nights, my back was aching and I found it hard to straighten up. I wish there were an option for rooms with firmer mattresses. 2) There were no rubber shower slippers, and it was quite cold showering barefoot as there was no non-slip mat. As a workaround, the hotel kindly provided extra disposable fabric slippers, which I appreciated. I'd suggest the hotel consider keeping some disinfected slippers or non-slip shower mats available for guests in the future.
